Turn the knob anti-clockwise (B) to increase the
♦
feed force.
Turn the knob clockwise (A) to decrease the feed
♦
force.
When the feed control knob is in the closed
♦
position (A), the pusher leg is vented.
Valve pin
V
When the valve pin (V) is pushed in, the feed force
ceases abruptly, thus overriding the setting on the
feed control knob. The facility is used, e.g. to adjust
the height of the rock drill, when rigging up the pusher
leg, or when there is a tendency to jam. When the
valve pin is depressed, the piston rod in the pusher
leg is retracted automatically.
Start and stop
Starting the rock drill
1. Open the main valve for compressed air.
2. Open the cock (D) for the flushing water.
3. Adjust the feed control knob (C) to give a suitable
feed force for collaring the hole.
4. Align the rock drill so that the drill steel touches
the required collaring point.

Safety and operating instructions
5. Move the throttle lever (A) forward a little, which
will start the water flushing, the percussion and
rotation.
6. Collar the hole with reduced feed force.
7. Move the throttle lever (A) fully forward once the
drill steel has gained a secure footing in the rock.
8. Adjust the feed force by means of the control
knob (C) so that the maximum penetration rate
is obtained.
Stopping the rock drill
1. Pull the throttle lever (A) backwards, which will
stop the percussion, rotation and flushing water.
2. Turn the feed control knob (C) to the closed
position.
Operating
Drilling
♦
Use protective shoes, gloves, helmet, ear
protectors and impact resistant eye protection with
side protection.
♦
Stand firmly and always hold the machine with
both hands.
♦
Hold the inserted tool firmly against the work
surface before starting the machine.
Re-positioning the pusher leg
1. Switch off the rock drill percussion and flushing
by means of the throttle lever (A).
2. Depress the valve pin (B), whereupon the piston
rod is pulled back into the pusher-leg cylinder
automatically.
3. Re-position the pusher leg.
