The transmitter and receiver sensors have the same housing size and should be mounted at an angle of 30° (± 10°) or 5° from the vertical.
The setting is done with the internal switch S2. If the device is operated at an angle from 5° to 20°, then the switch S2 (Run Mode) should
be set to position "1". A greater angle increases the flutter area, for example: at an angle of 40° fluttering within 60% of the sensing area
is permissible.
The material to be detected must be 5 to 15 mm away from the transmitter.
The distance between transmitter and receiver should be min. 20 mm and can be max. 60 mm.
Alignment to the axis must be very precise (± 1°).
Poor mounting alignment will decrease the working area.

Setup (Fig. I)
The evaluating unit can be set up in two different set modes:
1) Switch S1 (Set Mode) in position "1" (manual setting)
The setting to the material can be done with the key "SET" on the top of the housing or with a command on the input "SET" of the M12
connector (PIN 5). The setup value will be stored until the next setup command. During setting, a singlesheet should be placed in bet-
ween the Sonar-sensors and the "SET" command should be activated.
The minimum setup time of the 3RX2210 is 100 ms. For this time the key SET must be continually pressed or a "1"- signal ( > 6 V) must
be continually present on PIN 5. During setup, the green LED SET is blinking. After successful setup, the green LED is permanently on.
