5. Calibration
Two holes are located at the upper edge of the housing.
Remove the protective cap from the device and insert
the measuring needles into the hole. The value 19%
must be illustrated on the display in order to ensure a
correct calibration. In the event of a deviation in the
value the instrument must be returned to the customer
service department of STORCH GmbH for recalibration.

7. Accessories
7.1 Connection and operation of the depth measuring
sensor for conducting measurements inside plaster
and brickwork - Item No. 60 80 10
When conducting measurements deep in material you
will need to use the pluggable depth measuring sensor.
1.Drill two 6 mm diameter holes into the material to be
examined (max. up to 23 cm).
2. The distance between the holes should be 50 mm +
- 20 mm, because a deviation of this range of tolerance
can falsify the measured value.
3. Select an appropriate drilling depth in order to obtain
a clear representation of the situation of the source of
moisture.
4. Place the measuring needle adapter onto the
measuring needles on the HPM 3000+ and measure
the desired area with the depth measuring sensor.
After drilling wait around 30 minutes in
order for the degree of moisture that has
evaporated as a result of the drilling heat
to reach its original value again.
Caution!
Otherwise the measured value results
can be falsified.
7.2 Connection and operation of the hammer electrode
for conducting measurements inside wood - Item No.
60 80 12
- Place the measuring needle adapter onto the
measuring needles on the HPM 3000.
- Place the measuring needles of the hammer electrode
on the appropriate object
- Use the hand knob to knock the measuring needles
carefully into the wood until they have reached the
desired depth (max. 5 cm).
- Read the measured value from the instrument.
