GENERAL SAFETY PROVISIONS

The operator must comply with the advice and warnings given below in
order to ensure safe, long-lasting equipment performance:
• do not allow untrained staff to use the equipment;
• prepare an optimal worktop, making sure that the operational space is
free from obstacles, clean and has suitable lighting;
• avoid distractions when using the equipment;
• in the event of a malfunction follow the advice given in this manual; if
in doubt, stop the equipment and contact your Authorised After-Sales
Centre immediately;

• do not replace the power supply cable or tamper with the supplied plug;
to replace the same due to damage or wear, only contact the Authorised
After-Sales Centre;
• To replace a damaged or worn foot control unit lead and/or the pedal
switch itself contact an Authorised Servicing Centre only.
• it is prohibited to work objects with features different from those for
which the equipment has been designed;
• before carrying out any cleaning, routine and/or extraordinary
maintenance, make sure that the equipment has been unplugged from
the mains power supply;
• always make sure that there are no foreign bodies inside the work area.
These could prevent damage to the equipment and/or injury to the staff;
• do not use petrol or flammable solvents as detergents; use only non-
flammable, non-corrosive and non-toxic substances. (see par. 8.1).

CHAPTER 4: TECHNICAL FEATURES
4.1

TECHNICAL FEATURES AND FUNCTIONING PRINCIPLE

Zhermack creates qualitatively and technologically advanced work
instruments, in away that the user feels that they are made-to-measure his
everyday working requirements.
Zhermack uses state-of-the-art instruments in the design field when
making these products, thus ensuring maximum equipment functionality.
The use of top quality materials and performance of all inspections
necessary for operator safety guarantee Zhermack products, making them
competitive at a worldwide level.
The operating principle of the California sandblaster is based on the
sandblasting of dental laboratory articles.
The sanding machine, which is available in the standard model with two
tanks, is set up to have a third optional tank assembled equipped with a
handpiece complete with a nozzle (see section 7.4.5).
The nozzles, in tungsten carbide, are available in various sizes so that the
technician-operator can set up the sandblaster to meet his own specific
requirements.
The following are supplied as standards:
• n.2 nozzles fitted on handpieces for models with 2 modules:
ø 0,8 mm - ø 1,3 mm;
• n.2 nozzles fitted on handpieces for models with 3 modules:
ø 0,8 mm x2 - ø 1,3 mm x1.
Given the availability of more than one tank, there is a selector switch for
quick sandblasting changeover: this makes use easier where different sands
are required. The version with 2 modules comes ready for optional fitting of
the third tank with nozzle-equipped handpiece (see section 7.4.5).
