Placing Baby in the Carrier – Facing Inward
Tip!
The "hold me close" position, or facing inward, is best for young
infants with limited neck control.

Put the carrier on before placing
your baby in the carrier.
With the carrier in front of you,
slip the carrier over your head.
Buckle the shoulder strap
Repeat on the other side.
The carrier should be
comfortable and snug.
Pull on adjustment straps
to remove slack.
Sit down.
With unbuckled carrier on
your lap, place baby onto
carrier facing you with legs
straddling carrier.
BE PREPARED FOR BABY'S
SUDDEN MOVEMENT!
While supporting baby's head
and back, carefully raise
carrier and baby up toward
your chest.

Fasten the side-entry buckle
(see page 2). Make sure it
fastens with an audible click.

fasten the head support
buckle
strap. Make sure it fastens
with an audible click.
Adjust headrest as
necessary to support baby's
