Before you use the appliance for the first time, please do
as follows: Unpack the appliance carefully and remove
all the packaging material. Keep the material (plastic
bags and cardboard) out of reach of children. Check the
appliance after unpacking for any visible damage, which
could be caused by transportation. Place the appliance on
a stable and heat resistant surface. Wipe the housing of the
appliance and the cooking plates only with a damp cloth.
Dry the appliance and the cooking plates thoroughly.
4 | PREPARING MINI CUPCAKES
Position the cupcake maker on a dry, level, heat-resistant
2
surface. Lift the lid to the open position. If not using paper
cupcake liners, to maintain the quality of the non-stick
it is recommended to periodically coat the non-stick
surface with a small amount of vegetable oil. This can
be done with a paper towel or with a non-stick oil spray.
Wipe off any excess oil. Plug the power cord into a outlet.
Lower the lid to the closed position and allow the cupcake
maker to preheat for a minimum of 3 minutes. The orange
POWER light will be illuminated.
TIP: prepare ingredients while the cupcake maker is
preheating.
When the cupcake maker has preheated to the proper
cooking temperature, the green READY light will illuminate.
Open the top lid using an oven mitt or pot holder to avoid
making contact with the hot surfaces.
Caution: surfaces of the cupcake maker are hot. To avoid
accidental burns or contact with the hot surfaces or
steam being released while cooking, always open and
close the lid of the cupcake maker using an oven mitt or
3
pot holder.
If baking cupcakes, brownie bites or mini cheesecakes,
place a paper baking cup in each cooking reservoir.
NOTE: For brownie bites or mini cheesecakes, a paper
baking cup MUST be used, since they are delicate and
VERY hot.
Fill each cooking reservoir with approximately 1
tablespoon of batter. Be careful not to overfill the cooking
reservoirs as the batter will expand during the cooking
process.
TIP: to easily fill the cooking reservoirs, use a disposable
pastry bag or a ziptop plastic food storage bag with
the corner clipped. Lower the lid using an oven mitt
or pot holder. Actual cooking time will vary depending
on ingredients and type of cupcakes being prepared. A
general guide line is 6 to 7 minutes cooking time per batch
of cupcakes.
With oven mitts or a pot holder open the cupcake maker
lid. Remove the cupcakes using a wooden or other heat-
resistant non-metallic utensil using caution not to scratch
or damage the non-stick surface. When finished cooking,
remove the plug from the wall outlet and allow the
appliance to cool before moving, cleaning or storing.
