10. TROUBLESHOOTING
Below are a list of some of the most common problems that may arise, with the relative solutions.
DEFECT
The mains fuses burn when the gene-
rator switch is pressed
With the generator switch ON, the
machine does not turn on (the green
LED (15 of fig. 1) does not light up)
With the generator on, LED 4 shown
in figure 1 turns on and the machine
does not function
Yellow LED 7 "THERMAL PRO-
TECTION" of fig. 1 lights up
Yellow LED "LOW AIR PRESSU-
RE" (5 of fig. 1) lights up
Yellow LED "LOW AIR PRESSU-
RE" (5 of fig. 1) lights up at the
start of cutting
When the torch button is pressed
the red "PILOT ARC" LED (3 of fig.
1) does not light up and the pilot
arc does not start
When the torch button is pressed
the red "PILOT ARC" LED (3 of fig.
1) lights up but the pilot arc does
not start
The pilot arc is established but the
main arc does not start (LED 6 of fig.
1 is off) and, therefore, the machine
does not cut.
Impossible to adjust the cutting cur-
rent via knob 1 of fig. 1
CAUSE
Short circuit inside the generator
No mains voltage
Faulty generator
Power supply cord too long
A power supply phase is missing
The mains voltage drops below 360V
during the cutting process
Intermittence factor too high
Ambient temperature above 40°C
Air inlet for the ventilation is clogged
by dirt/generator is positioned in a
way to prevent ventilation
Electric fan of the generator is broken
Air pressure below 3.5 bar
Air flow too low
Faulty torch (internal wires or button)
Torch not screwed correctly in the
relative machine attachment
Torch not suitable for using with the
generator
Failure of the torch (internal wiring
or button)
Torch not screwed correctly in the
relative machine attachment
Torcia non adatta al generatore

SOLUTION
Contact FIMER technical assistance
Check the connection between the
machine and the mains power, and
the presence of voltage

Supply power to the generator ccor-
ding to the instructions
Check the power supply cord
and any external fuses
Check the output of the mains line and
the power point where the machine is
connected
Reduce the intermittence factor
according to the instructions
Use the generator according to the
instructions
Remove dirt and position the generator
correctly according to the instructions
Contact FIMER technical assistance
Press the "PURGE TEST" button (10
of fig. 1) and adjust the pressure accor-
ding to the instructions
Check the dimensioning of the air
installation (tubes, compressor, etc.),
press the "PURGE TEST" button (10
of fig. 1) and adjust the pressure accor-
ding to the instructions
Disassemble the torch and check the
closing of the circuit between pins 1 and
9 of the plug with the button pressed.
Install the torch correctly according
to the instructions
Use recommended torches
Remove the torch and check closing
the circuit between pins 1 and 9 of the
plug-button pressed.
Find the active protection and fol-
low the instructions contained in this
guide
Assemble the torch correctly accor-
ding to the instructions
