INSTALL THE RANGEHOOD
1. Remove the grease filters from the unit and set aside. The
grease filters are removed by pressing the handle in front of the
filter (FIGURE 9). When replacing, make sure that the filters are
properly positioned with the handles in front and visible.
FIGURE 9
2. Determine and make all necessary cuts in the wall for the vent
system. Install the vent system before installing the range
hood. See the "Venting Requirements" section.
3. Determine and mark the location where the hole will be drilled
for the power supply cable to be run through the wall. See
FIGURE 10 for locating the power supply. Take the distance
from the cooktop (F) and hood install height (D), and add 3"
(A). Mark and drill a hole (B) = 1 1/4" diameter on the wall on
the left side of the hood (C) 7 1/4" for 30" hoods, and 8 1/4" for
36" hoods from the center line (E).
NOTE: The wiring box may be located on the right or
left side in the hood. Use the mirror image of
FIGURE 10 if located on the opposite side.
An alternate method of bringing power to hood is
feeding the cable thru the strain relief located next to
the duct hole on top of the hood (on the centerline,
11" up from the bottom of the hood.)
Vented Installations
1. Install damper on top of the exhaust opening. Check that the
damper opens freely. Install the ductwork and seal all
connections with duct tape before mounting the hood.
2. Go to "Mount the Range Hood" in this section.
Non-vented (ductless) Installations
NOTE: Ductless Kit Part #DUCTCLAS is required.
1. Install the non-vented (ductless) diverter supplied with the
recirculating kit. See (FIGURE 11)
2. Fit the diverter over the vent exhaust outlet and push
down to seat on outlet. Check that the diverter exhaust
outlets are parallel with the vent motor sides so that they will
align with the vent cover openings in the lower chimney.
3. Attach the CHARCOAL FILTERS to both sides of the blower
(as indicated in FIGURE 12).

MOUNT THE RANGE HOOD
1. Using 2 or more people, lift the range hood and place
the mounting hood brackets over the mounting screws.
FIGURE 13
2. Run the home power supply cable (black, white and
green wires) through the strain relief in the back of the
range hood and into the terminal box.
3. Push the range hood into its mounted position. The ½"
strain relief should fit into the 1¼" diameter hole when
the rangehood is seated into position.
4. Securely tighten the mounting screws.
