recomendations for use and maintnance
1. Introduction
Thank you for having chosen Gamadecor when selecting your wardrobe.
In order to your wardrobe continues to look new for a long time and you can keep it in perfect
condition, please read the following practical tips for cleaning and maintenance.
Because of its daily use, a wardrobe has to meet high-level demands. That is the reason why all
materials we use for its manufacture are top quality. The manufacturing process has been controlled
in its different stages with the purpose of obtaining a reliable product, which can offer the same
features of use for many years.
2. Cleaning and maintenance tips
It is advisable to clean the wardrobe frequently instead of doing it more thoroughly at longer
intervals. In spite of the endurance of the surfaces, dirt tends to build up over time. In order to void
the use of abrasive cleaning products, clean it regularly at short intervals.
The maintenance of Gamadecor wardrobes is quite simple. However, when cleaning them, you
should never use such utensils and cleaning products as sharp objects, rough scouring pads, solvents,
bleach, nail polish remover, vinegar, citric acid, abrasive products, polishes, etc.
Please do not use steam machines for cleaning wardrobes or walk-in-closets. Pressure makes the
water steam get into de materials and makes them swell damaging the wood.
Due to its composition, texture, finish, hardness, etc., the materials of Gamadecor wardrobes require
some special care, which we describe as follows:
Cleaning in general
To eliminate dust, grease stains, fingerprints and cooking fumes, dissolve some mild soap in a
container of warm water. Wipe the cabinets with a damp cloth and then dry all surfaces, specially
the corners, with a soft clean dry cloth.
If you have any doubts about the effect a cleaning product might have on a surface, we
recommend trying it in a less visible place to check for any changes in colour or other alterations.
Laminate surfaces
They are the easiest to clean and there are no special instructions.
Lacquered surfaces
For daily cleaning, we recommend using a soft leather cloth, Vileda or a spongy cloth. Products
such as window cleaning liquids are also welcome for this kind of finishes.
The cloth always has to be wet. Never use a dry one.
Stainless steel surfaces
On the market, there are many products that are suitable for cleaning all stainless steel items like
fronts, hobs, hoods, ovens, etc. Please, follow the manufacture's instructions, which usually appear
on the packaging. You can also get them from a Gamadecor distributor.
Cleaning of plinth space
The frontal strips of the plinth have a mechanism, which makes them easy to assemble and
disassemble when cleaning the space of the plinth under the base units.
3. Atmosphere conditions
Wood is a natural product that reacts to changes in temperature and above all to a humid
atmosphere with expansions and contractions. The atmosphere humidity should range between 55
to 70 % and the temperature, between 18 to 22º C. In order to achieve these ideal conditions, we
recommend to take the following precautions:
Using humidifiers or, if this is not possible, keeping a container with water in it somewhere in the
wardrobe when the central heating is working.
Recently built houses usually have an atmosphere humidity of over 70%. Here, good ventilation is
essential.
Seaside and countryside climates are the ones with the biggest differences in atmosphere humidity.
Thus, it is necessary to maximize the precautions in these areas.
As an additional measure to keep the beauty of your wardrobe, we recommend preventing the
sunrays from falling directly on the wood. In spite of the quality of the lacquers, which contain
components that protect the wood against ultra-violet radiation, wood can suffer discoloration as
time goes by if derectly and continually exposed to sunlight.
