● Make sure that no persons, children or animals are in the work area
during operation.
● The operator is responsible for accidents that occur to other persons and
their property.
● Use personal protective equipment. Refer to "2.3 Personal protective
equipment" on page 18.
● Do not use the product if you are barefoot, or if you wear open shoes. Do
not wear loose-fitting clothing that can get caught in the moving parts.
● Inspect the area where the product is to be used. Make sure that no
objects can be thrown out.
● Examine the product before use. Make sure that the cutting blade and the
cutting unit are not worn out or damaged. Make sure that the blade
screws are tight and not damaged.
● Make sure that you clearly read signs and decals. Replace signs and
decals that have become illegible or lost.
● Stop the product and pull out the power plug if the power cord becomes
damage during operation.
● Only use the product in daylight.
● Do not use the product in wet grass.
● Make sure to always have a good foothold on sloping ground.
● Do not run with the product.
● Operate the product across the face of slopes. Do not move up and down.
● Be careful when you change direction on slopes.
● Do not operate the product on ground that slopes more than 15°.
● Be careful when you move rearward with the product or when you pull
the product towards you.
● Stop the cutting blade if the product has to be moved on a surface with
no grass.
● Do not use the product if guards, covers or safety devices are damaged.
Make sure that the ejector guide and/or grass containers are correctly
attached to the product.
● Do not use a damaged product.
● Keep your feet and other body parts away from the cutting blade when
the product is on.
● Stop the product, refer to "4.2 To stop the product" on page 19, before
you walk away from the product.
2.3 Personal protective equipment
● Always use ear protection.
● Always wear heavy-duty shoes and long trousers.
● Wear approved safety glasses or a visor.
● Wear gloves when you do maintenance. The cutting blade is sharp.
2.4 Electrical safety
● The product is a class II product and must be connected to a mains
supply with a residual current device with a maximum tripping current of
30mA.
● Before use, make sure that the mains outlet, power cord and power plug
are not damaged and that there are no signs of fatigue. Do not use the
product if the power cord and/or power plug are damaged.
● Let all inspection and repair of electrical parts be done by an authorized
electrician.
2.5 Safety instructions for maintenance
● Stop the product and pull out the power cord before cleaning and

maintenance of the product. Refer to "4.2 To stop the product" on page
19.
● Always wear gloves when you do maintenance on the product. Do not
touch the edge of the cutting blade.
● On a product with more than 1 cutting blade, all the cutting blades can
move when only 1 cutting blade is turned.
● Be careful and make sure that no parts get caught between the cutting
blades and the fixed parts of the product.
● Let the product become cool before maintenance.
● Be careful, cutting blades can move when the product is stopped and
disconnected.
● Replace damaged or worn parts. Only use approved spare parts and
accessories.
● Be careful when you lift or turn over the product.
3 Assembly
3.1 To assemble the handle

Install the top handle (8) to the bottom handle (7) with the
thumbscrews (12), nuts (11), washers (10) and locking screws (9).

Insert the tubes of the bottom handle in the holes in the chassis.
Insert the screws (13) and tighten them. (Figure 3)
3.1.1 To assemble the grass container

Align the rear edge of the grass container top (4), to the rear edge of
the grass container bottom (5). (Figure 4)

Put the locking tabs toward each other in correct position and push
them together. Use pliers if it is necessary.

Align and push the locking tabs together on the right and left sides of
the container.

Make sure that the grass container is correctly assembled. (Figure 5)

Lift the rear deflector (6) at the top of the product. (Figure 5)

Insert the grass container below the handle. Align with the fastener
hooks and put the grass container rear on the product.

Fold the rear deflector down and let it fall down on the grass
container.
4 Operation
4.1 To start the product
Warning! Do not stand in front of the ejector opening when you
start the product.
Caution! Do not tilt the product more than necessary when you
start the product. If you have to tilt the product, lift up the front end of
the product.

Connect the product to a mains supply, refer to "2.4 Electrical safety"
on page 18.

Pull out the power plug when the product is not in use.
