Installing a horizontal wall-mounted water heater (HM)
Follow the same recommendations as for
●
the vertical wall-mounted water heater.
Handles are also built-in.
For a floor attachment, move the two stir-
●
rups and screw them together so that the
hydraulic connections are perpendicular to
the floor. Provide a minimum packing of 300
mm so that the safety unit and drain pipe
can be correctly positioned.
For a ceiling attachment, you must use the
●
strap kit provided for this prupose (optional
accessory), and refer to the specific instruc-
tions.
With shielded horizontal wall-mounted
●
models, leave a minimum space of 300 mm
for the removal of the magnesium anode on
the base door.
Specific installation for a bathroom
Four volumes are defined for the installa-
tion of electrical equipment, depending on
their characteristics.
The ATLANTIC water heater may be placed
in any of them, except for volume 0 of
course, provided that installation instruc-
tions in standard NF C 15-100 are respec-
ted.
Water connections
Water connections must be made to the
water heater in accordance with standards
and regulations in force in the country in
■ TUBING ON THE HEATER
Each tubing is a ø 20/27 (50 L to 300 L) or
●
ø 26/34 (500 L) steel pipe with gas pitch
threaded end.
The cold water inlet is marked by a blue
●
collar, and the hot water outlet is marked by

a red collar.
Red and blue end pieces are inserted in
●
the tubings, and must be kept when
connecting to the pipes.
■ CONNECTIONS TO TUBING
The nature of the tubing may be rigid (usual-
●
ly copper - black steel is prohibited) or flexible
(flexible stainless steel braid).
If copper pipes are used, the connection to
●
the hot water outlet must be made using a
cast iron or steel coupling, or an insulating
connector in order to prevent corrosion of
the tubing (direct steel-copper contact).
Brass fittings shall not be used in this loca-
tion (NFC 15-100).

This safety unit comprises :
1 stop valve
1 manual drain valve
1 non-return valve (to prevent
water in the water heater
from flowing back into the
cold water network)
1 safety valve set to 7 bars
1 non-return valve inspection

end and air trap
IMPORTANT
The pressure in the cold water network is
usually less than 5 bars.
If it is not, provide a pressure reducer that will
be located on the water inlet after the meter.
A safety unit (not supplied with the water
●
heater) in conformity with existing standards
shall be screwed onto the water heater cold
water inlet.
If the hot water pipes on an installation are
●
made of a synthetic material, it is recom-
mended to use a mixing valve at the heater
hot water outlet to obtain a maximum water
temperature of 60°C.

NOTE
An expansion vessel may be installed in addi-
tion to the safety unit if it is impossible to drain
excess water due to expansion by gravity. It is
recommended to install a water hammer pro-
tective valve if your installation includes small
diameters or fast closing valves.
