4 Operation
A connection example with a remote-controlled
DVD player as signal source and a TV set as
player can be found below. If the signal source
is not operated by means of an IR remote con-
trol, the IR transmitter and the IR receiver are
not required.
1) Connect the HDMI transmitter to the HDMI
output jack of the signal source.
2) To supply the transmitter with power, connect
the jack DC 5 V (3) to a USB port at the signal
source, using the USB cable supplied. If the
signal source does not provide any USB port,
connect an appropriate power supply unit
(e. g. PSS-1005USB) to the jack DC 5 V.
3) If an IR remote control is used for the signal
source, connect the IR receiver (marked with
IR OUT) to the jack IR OUT (2).
4) Insert the antenna supplied into the jack
RX (11) of the HDMI receiver and tighten it.
5) Use an HDMI cable to connect the jack OUT-
PUT (9) to the HDMI input of the player.
6) If an IR remote control is used for the signal
source, connect the IR transmitter (marked
with IR IN) to the jack IR IN (10).
7) Connect the power supply unit provided to
the jack DC 5 V (6) and to a mains socket
(230 V/ 50 Hz). The LED indicators (4, 5, 7, 8)
will light up or flash as described in chapter 1
"Overview".
