Sigma sound is an external module for public addressing system. It can
be controlled by a Sigma master clock (default setting) or by an external
contact.
1 - CONFIgUratION
2 DIP switches permits to configure the Sigma Sound module.
Open the casing to get access to the DIP switches.
When the DIP switch (D) is set to "alone", the Sigma Sound works
independently. Sigma sound power supply becomes the "control input".
The DIP switch (E) is active when the Sigma Sound works independently.
When it is set to "repeat", the melody is repeated as long as the Sigma
Sound is supplied with power.
2 - eLeCtrICaL INStaLLatION
Connect the 12V input to the Sigma or to the control unit.
Connect the RS485 input to the Sigma according to the figure 2.
Remark: The Sigma master clock identifies automatically the Sigma Sound
and allocates the output n°13. Caution, the slot n°4 will be no more available
for an extension card.
Connect the audio output (analog signal) to the "Aux" input of the audio
amplifier (Fig. 2).
If required, connect the contact output to the priority input of the audio
amplifier.
3 - OPeratION
Programming and melody selection is achieved from the master clock.
Each time the melody is played, the number of the melody is displayed.
The green dot at the bottom right of the readout indicates that the melody
being played is a melody contained in the memory of the Sigma Sound.
SETTING THE MELODIES
The Sigma Sound includes 16 melodies in the standard configuration.
The "MEL" key is used to select a melody (from 1 to 16).
The "VOL" key is used to adjust the volume from 1 to 8.
The "TST" key starts the test and stops a sounder. The volume is
validated.
Select the audio output with the (S) key:
- None ("Aux" and "Loc" LEDs off),
- "Aux" output ("Aux" LED on),
- Built-in loudspeaker ("Loc" LED on),
- "Aux" + built-in loudspeaker ("Aux" and "Loc" LEDs on).
An optional SD Card is available to record and play other melodies (mp3 file
format).
The melodies on this SD Card replace the basic melodies of the sounder.
They can be recorded directly by the user from a PC.
Remark: SDHC cards are not compatible.
4 - meLODIeS
The melodies are recorded on a SD card or in the memory of the sounder.
The digital format of the audio files is MP3.
The names of the files on the SD Card must be 01.mp3 to 16.mp3.
