7.2. Operation
Before every use of the drum trolley in an Ex zone check the castors for dirt and foreign bodies and
-
clean them if necessary.
Check the drum trolley for any corrosion damage. If corrosion damage is present the drum trolley must
-
not be used.
When using the drum trolley in an Ex zone, only electrically conductive drums may be used. All objects
-
which come into contact with the drum trolley must be electrically conductive.
Check to ensure the drum is suitable and ensure it is securely held. See section 2.
-
When picking up containers (eg a drum from a wooden pallet) consider any static charge present and
-
the resulting dangers. Suitable equipotential bonding must be ensured. Observe TRBS 2153.
Move up to the drum slowly, pick it up and ensure when doing so that you keep well below a speed of
-
1m/sec (3.6 km/h).
7.3
Maintenance and repair
Carry out maintenance work only in an area which is not defined as an Ex zone.
-
Regularly check the equipment for damage, corrosion and dirt. Remedy these faults immediately. Do
-
not apply any additional paint to the equipment.
Check the wheel bearings regularly for any dirt and clean them. If necessary, renew the lubrication.
-
Check regularly that all mounting and safety components are securely mounted.
-
When replacing components, only use DENIOS original replacement parts. Using unsuitable
-
replacement parts will invalidate Ex suitability and forfeit the warranty.
