5.0 Installation Guide

5.1 Methanizer Controller Box and Heater Chamber Wires
5.1.1 Switch off all of the supply gases at their sources.
5.1.2 Cool down the GC oven and the detector.
5.1.3 Place the methanizer controller box on the top right side of the GC oven. This will make the power switch and connectors more
accessible.
NOTE: Do not place the unit where it will be difficult to access the power cord or the on/off switch. Also, when positioning the unit, ensure
that the ventilation slots are not blocked.
5.1.4 Wearing gloves, remove one of the cutouts at the top of the GC oven and move insulation aside (Figure 3).
5.1.5 Route the two connectors on the heating chamber out through both the cutout hole and the insulation toward the back of the
methanizer controller box. Do NOT connect them to the control box at this time. Pull any excess wire through the hole (Figure 4).

5.2 Inside the GC Oven

5.2.1 Prepare the methanizer by inserting the catalyst tube into the heater chamber as shown in Figure 5. The arrow on the heater
chamber indicates the top of the unit.
5.2.2 Make sure the support ring on the catalyst tube is at the bottom of the heater chamber.
