Operation
When the home standby generator is providing power to the
transfer switch, the power management system is constantly
monitoring generator output power. The system monitors
both incoming generator lines and keeps the home standby
generator loaded to a predetermined SET POINT. When the
current transformers on any line start to see current reach
SET POINT, the system will start shedding loads based on
the lowest priority and work its way to the highest priority.
When monitored current drops below SET POINT, the
system will start to add loads based on the highest priority
first, followed by the second highest until the generator
reaches SET POINT or all priorities are back on line. The
equipment will operate this way (shedding or adding loads)
until the transfer switch transfers back to utility power.
The system waits 10 seconds between adding or shedding
each load to permit the system to stabilize. When relays
A1 and A2 are opened, the relays will stay opened for
a minimum of 5 minutes or until the load can be added
without putting the generator over SET POINT load. When
contactors Load1, Load2, Load3 and Load4 are opened, the
relays will stay opened for a minimum of 30 seconds or until
the load can be added without putting the generator over
SET POINT.
If a large load demand is seen, the system will shed all
loads in less than 1 second to prevent the generator from
overloading. Once the demand has stabilized, the system will
re-load the generator, as described above.
In descending order, the priorities for load management
are A1, Load 1, Load 2, Load 3, Load 4, A2 (A1 is highest
priority and A2 the lowest). A3 and A4 are lockout's in
generator mode.

Enclosure Door Mechanism
• To open door, press the spring-load door lock to the
right and pull down on the door.
• To close and latch door, push door closed against
enclosure. While in this position, push door upwards.
This will cause spring-load door lock to engage and
latch door in place.
NOTE: Enclosure door MUST be closed and latched at all
times except when system is being serviced.
