4.0 HANDLING AND INSTALLATION

4.1 TRANSPORT AND UNLOADING

If not carried out with the utmost care, lift unloading, transport and lifting operations can be dangerous: keep all the unauthorised
persons away from lift; clean, clear and delimit the installation area; check that the available tools are suitable for use and in good operating
conditions; do not touch any suspended loads, and stay at safety distance; during transport, suspended loads shall not be more than 20 cm
from floor; thoroughly respect the following instructions; do not proceed in case of doubts or uncertainty.
The different components of the packed lift are kept together by means of suitable bolted brackets to ensure easy and safe transport and handling.
Packed lift shall be transported with a fork lift having a suitable capacity.
During handling, make sure that the packed lift or the single columns are not subject to impacts or dashes. Packed lift overall dimensions and mass are
shown in Figure 8.

4.2 INSTALLATION

WARNING: All the following installation, adjustment and testing operations should be carried out only by qualified and responsible
staff operating according to the applicable electric, mechanic and building safety standards.
DANGER: Lift installation, adjustment and testing include potentially dangerous operations; you must thus carefully read all the
instructions described hereinafter. In case of doubts, directly contact the Manufacturer, who disclaims any liability due to the failure to comply
with the safety and accident-prevention rules specified in this manual.
DANGER: If the lift is installed on a floor slab it is necessary to consider the lift weight plus the maximum liftable load resting on
the lift bearing surfaces using adequate safety coefficients. It is responsibility of the purchaser to carry out this check at his/her charge.

4.3 FOUNDATIONS

Lift shall be laid onto a reinforced concrete layer class "RcK 30" (3000N/cm²) with a min. thickness of 20 centimetres and spanning at least 1.5 m away
from anchoring points. The concrete platform shall be smooth and perfectly levelled in all directions, and cast on a compact ground. The overall dimen-
sions of the full system are given in Fig. 2.

4.4 POSITIONING AND INSTALLATION OF THE STRUCTURE

WARNING: At this stage of the installation, DO NOT perform any electrical connections.

4.4.1 POSITIONING AND FIXING OF THE COLUMNS AND THE CROSSBEAM

1) Remove the protection cartons of the packed lift and lay the components to be mounted on the floor, so as to work comfortably on the main structures.
2) Set the lift down in the area defined for installation, ensuring that there is sufficient ceiling height as indicated in the figure (Fig.10).
3) Place the packing plates (1, Fig.8) on the floor and remove the fastener screws.
4) After removing the packing plates (1, Fig. 8), keeping the columns in an upright position (2, Fig. 8) using appropriate supports and/or a lift truck, lift
the columns (Fig.11) and set both column plates P1 and P2 on the floor. Fasten with the relative screws (1-2, Fig. 11) After fastening the columns to
the floor in the correct positions (Fig. 10), route and connect the electric cables.
5) Unscrew the nuts (5, Fig. 9), complete with washer, from the end of the nut (6, Fig.9) of column P1/P2, removing the spacer tube only (7, Fig.9); fit
the mounting plate, with the electric motor pre-assembled (10, Fig.9), and fasten with the fastener screws. Install the pulley (12, Fig.9) (MAGNET
FACING DOWNWARDS) (Fig.15) with the key (11, Fig. 9), then fasten the nut P1 (6, Fig.9) with the relative nuts and washers (5, Fig.9). Repeat the
procedure for column P2, assembling the parts in the correct sequence as follows:
insert the plain washer, then the first nut and tighten it firmly; insert the toothed washer and then tighten securely with the check-
nut. (USE A PNEUMATIC SCREWDRIVER)
6) Connect the pulleys with the driving belts (13, Fig. 9), tension them up using the suitable adjuster screw (14, Fig.9) and secure the motor using the
preassembled screws (15, Fig.9).
7) Drill six 16 mm diameter holes for fastening the plates (Fig. 11).
8) Fit the six M16 anchor bolts (HILTI HSA M16x190/95 or equivalent) (1 Fig. 11) tapping gently with a hammer.
9) Tighten the anchor bolts (2 Fig. 11) to 100 Nm. If the anchors spin freely, they should be replaced with larger anchors.
10) To compensate for unevenness of the floor and render the structure more stable, insert washers under the structure.
