Application
The P.O. amplifier unit PVG 602-...
in a 3-grid housing for switch panel
mounting (53.5 mm) is used to
connect a Siedle 1+n door loud-
speaker (TLM 512-0, TLM 612-0,
TLE 061-0, CTB 711-2/ -4/ -8) to an
existing telephone system.
The NG 602-0 is required to provide
the power supply. To ensure trouble-
free operation, the telephone system
must be fitted with a so-called "FTA
interface". This inter-face imposes
the following technical requirements
on the PVG 602-... and on the
telephone system:
Terminal assignment to the door
station
b/c: Supply 12 V AC
1/7: Terminals to the door station
Terminal assignment to non-
Siedle telephone systems
S1/S2: Floating bell contact (no
dialling pulse) max. 24 V/2 A
La/Lb: User set suitable for TFE, no
dialling pulse, no direct voltage, only
LF signal 280 mV (speech).
To/To': Floating contact to activate
the door release.
Ts/Ts': Floating contact to switch-
ing on the amplifier for the duration
of the door call (no jumper to be
inserted). The terminal designations
of the telecommunication system
may deviate from this. However, the
specifications below must be com-
plied with! The PVG 602-... is
adjusted to the telecommunication
system with 600 Ω.
The terminals "La" and "Lb"
cannot be compared with a user
connection for an a/b telephone.
If a door call is created from the
telecommunication system, the
telecommunication system closes the
contact Ts/Ts'.
The door call can be signalled via the
PVG 602-... by means of a floating
contact (S1 and S2) (no multifre-
quency method dialling).
Depending on the telecommuni-
cation system type, either a call
input is available or a secondary
signal unit is required.
Note:
When using Siedle PBX telephone
systems, the PVG 602-... is not
required. Instead the relevant
interface IT 612-5 or ITC 712-8 are
reqiured. If an existing non-Siedle
telephone system does not possess
an interface in accordance with
FTZ 123 D 12, steps must be taken
to ascertain whether the PBX-system
is fitted with any other connection
possibility.
Functional characteristics of the
PVG 602-...
• By actuating the call button, a
voltage of appr. 23.3 V DC is
available at terminals 1 and 7 of the
PVG 602-.... (bias voltage amounts
to appr. 17-19 V DC)
• The contact S1/S2 is closed for as
long as the call button is activated.
• The contact Ts/Ts' in the telecom-
munication system closes, switching
on the amplifier in the PVG. After
the end of the call, the contact is
opened again. Permanent con-
nection must not exist, as otherwise
the audio privacy circuit in the
PVG 602-... is continuously activa-
ted, so preventing any more door
calls from being placed.
• The LF signal (appr. 280 mV) is
switched through to the terminals
La/Lb.
• By bridging the contact To/To', the
door release can be activated at any
time.
The speech and door release opera-
tion follows from the a/b telephones
conneced to the PBX-central.
The called door loudspeaker and
door release is switched on as per
the stated codes in the PBX-central
operating instuctions.
Adjustment of the speech
volume
• Actuate a door call at the door
loudspeaker.
• Using one of the telephones of the
PBX-system, take the call from the
door station. If the PBX-system is
fitted with ISDN telephones, one of
these should be used for adjustment
purposes.
• Using potentiometer P2 at the
PVG 602-..., set the speech volume
during an existing speech connection.
• When speaking normally into the
door station, use potentiometer P1 at
the PVG 602-... to set the LF signal to
an understandable level at the
telecommunication system telephone.
• Even when the caller speaks loudly
into the door station, no feedback
should be audible. If feedback occurs,
where necessary readjust using the
potentiometer (volume symbol) on
the TLM 612-0/TLE 061-0.
• Test the speech connection again.
The PVG 602-... works the same way
as a system telephone HTS/ HTG/
HTC 711-... and can according-ly be
used in all circuits described in "Door
and In-house communication,
Planning and Installation!
Attention
If more than one PVG 602-... is con-
nected to a door loudspeaker sys-
tem, then each PVG 602-... must
have a line rectifier or trans-former
12 V AC assigned to it, otherwise
humming/interference noise could
occur.
Installation
Conductor material
Bell wire, low current or telecom-
munication cables can be used for
door loudspeaker installation:
YR
low current coductor
JY(ST)Y
twisted-pair conductors,
shielded
A2Y(ST)2Y telecommunication
earth cable
1 With pairwise twisted wires
proceed as follows.
Range
P.O. amplifier - door loudspeaker
The loop resistance (feed and return
circuit) may not exceed 40 Ω. With a
wire diameter of 0,8 mm (20 AWG),
a range of approx. 500 m (547 yds.)
can be reached.
