YOUR SAFETY IS IMPORTANT TO US
This guide contains instructions regarding safety as well as precautions to ensure a compliant and
successful installation. Please pay special attention to this symbol and follow all instructions.
NOTE: It is forbidden to connect the cable to the thermostat before the installation is completed. It is also
forbidden to cut or modify the cable in any way.
The True Comfort cable was designed to be installed in an uncoupling membrane installation system
or with True Comfort installation gauges or FLEXTHERM's FLEXSnap + system at a regular spacing of
a minimum of 7.6 cm (3 in) and a maximum of 10.1 cm (4 in).
True Comfort systems can be used either as complementary or as a main source of heating (provided
that heat loss does not exceed the energy capacity of the installation). The True Comfort cable
must be installed at every third stud of an uncoupling membrane and spacing will vary according
to the membrane. Depending on the membrane, the cable will generate 129 W/m
installed at a 3 inch spacing, 111 W/m
m
(9.6 W/ft
) if it is installed at a 3.75 inch spacing. When installed at a 4 inch spacing, the system

The ambient and floor temperature achieved will depend on factors such as: insulation, window
coverage, type of floor covering, etc.
IMPORTANT: The subfloor must meet construction standards and be strong enough to support ceramic
tile or natural stone. Refer to the membrane manufacturer to know which supports are compatible for
an installation with a heating cable, and to the Tile Council of North America publications (www.tileusa.
com) for installation standards.
