Useful information
Removal is difficult if the vehicle's windscreen is very cold or the adhesive bead is very old . By heating the screen with a hot air
gun (up to max . 90°C), the adhesive bead becomes soft and thus easier to separate . It is also practical to heat up the awl in such
instances .
Before cutting out, inspect the new screen where clips or spaces might be . If the screen is required for later re-installation, the
cord must be fed below any seal that may be present to prevent damage to the seal .
Removing side windows
Side windows can be removed if the windscreen removal device can be attached to the screen with the suction cup .
Due to spatial conditions the angular gear is required .
Troubleshooting
Problem
The windscreen removal cord only goes
through the adhesive bead with great
difficulty or tears off .
The tool does not hold the vehicle's
windscreen properly
The vacuum drops and the red safety
ring becomes visible
Cause
The adhesive is too cold or very old and
hardened as a result
The screen is secured with clips
Lots of adhesive, possible due to a
double bead
The cutting angle is too blunt
The windscreen removal cord is stuck to
a clip bracket
The windscreen removal cord is stuck to
the chassis number
The screen is dirty or greasy
The tool's suction plate is damaged
The tool's vacuum pump is damaged
The tool is positioned on a crack
The tools are not designed for the use of removal wires . The warranty is
invalidated if a removal wire is used .
Solution
Heat up the vehicle in the workshop
Heat up the screen around the adhesive
bead with the hot air gun
In the case of small clips, cut through
them with a "tug"
In the case of large clips, thread the cord
behind the clip again
Heat up partially with the hot air gun
Set the tool up so that you get a sharp
angle .
Route the windscreen removal cord
properly
Push the removal protector over the
chassis number
Clean the screen
Replace the suction plate
Replace the vacuum pump
Move the tool
