Carburettor adjustment

Maintenance and care
When starting, idle speed adjuster (T) should be adjusted
not to rotate the cutting wheel. When there is some trouble
with the carburettor, contact your dealer.
Do not adjust the carburettor unless necessary.
To adjust the carburettor proceed as follows:
1.
Start engine and allow it to run at high idle until warm.
2.
Turn the idle speed adjuster (T) anticlockwise until the cut-
ting wheel stops moving.
3.
Turn idle speed adjuster (T) anticlockwise an additional 1 +
1/2 turn.
4.
Accelerate to full throttle to check for smooth transition from
idle to full throttle.
1.
Check periodically.
2.
Clogged fins will result in poor engine cooling.
3.
Remove dirt and dust from between fins to let cooling air
pass easily.
1.
Remove air cleaner cover and remove spark plug lead.
2.
Remove the cutter arm. (See page 30.)
3.
Remove spark arrestor screen cover and spark arrestor
screen from silencer.
4.
Clean carbon deposits from silencer components.
5.
Replace screen if it is cracked, or has holes burned through.
6.
Assemble components in reverse order.
NOTE
Carbon deposits in muffler will cause drop in engine output.
Spark arrestor screen must be checked periodically.
