USE AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
7.3 Equipment Emplacement.
It is advisable to deploy the equipment as close to the liquid to be pumped. It is suitable to use a suction pipe with a diameter greater
than the suction mouth of the equipment. If the aspiration load's height is negative it is necessary to mount a suction valve of suitable
characteristics. The irregular step between the pipes' diameters and narrow curves increase significantly the load losses. There must
be a gradual step from the small diameter pipe to the next larger diameter. Usually the length of the step's cone should be 5÷7 the
diameters' difference.
Check carefully that the suction pipe joints do not allow air to enter. Check that the joints between the flanges and counter-flanges are
well centered in order to prevent resistance against the flow in the pipes. In order to prevent air bubbles being formed into
the suction pipe, slight positive slope of the suction tube must be made towards the equipment.
8. ELECTRIC JOINING:
Warning: always meet safety standards!
Follow rigorously the electrical diagrams that appear within the cabinet of the equipment.
The electrical connections must be made by a skilled electrician, who meets the necessary requirements
established by the current regulations (see paragraph 6.1).
It is necessary to follow rigorously the prescription foreseen by the Current Distribution Company
In cases with three-phase engines with star-delta starter, it must be certain that the switching time between the star and the triangle
is the smallest possible.
Before accessing the control panel, make sure that the voltage line is disconnected.
Check the main voltage network before making any joints. If it matches the figure on the plate, arrange the wires to the plate
prioritizing the ground cable.
VERIFY THAT THE GROUND INSTALLATION IS WORKING PROPERLY AND THAT A SUITABLE CONNECTION IS
POSSIBLE. The equipments should always be connected to an external general isolating switch.
9. COMPONENTS AND EQUIPMENT SPECIFICATIONS
MAIN PUMPS:
The main pump provides the system's required flow and pressure.
It must be able to drive at least 140% of the nominal flow at a pressure not less than 70% of the nominal pressure..
MAIN PUMPS SHOULD START AUTOMATICALLY, ACCORDING TO THE REGULATIONS, BUT FOR THE SAME EQUIPMENT THE LOCKING
HAS TO BE MANDATORY DONE MANUALLY.
• Main pumps with electric engine:
• Main pumps with diesel engine:
• Auxiliary "jockey" Pump
Testing collector (OPTIONAL)
AUTOMATION AND CONTROL ELEMENTS: KICKOFF AND CONTROL PANEL FOR ELECTRIC PUMPS AS CEPREVEN
R.T.2 - ABA, UNE 23-500:2012 or UNE EN-12845.
Built under strict rule CEPREVEN RT2 - ABA, UNE 23-500:2012 or UNE EN-12845 incorporates a polycarbonate front panel for an easy
understanding of all the symbols, inside the same cupboard there are the kickoff, control and protection of the auxiliary Jockey pump.
