GENERAL SAFETY RULES
Read this manual carefully before using the chain-
saw and take care of all safety instructions, in order
to prevent any injury and damage. Please forward
these safety instructions to any other person who
uses the chainsaw. Always use your common sense
to avoid all situations considered beyond your capa-
bility. Do not hesitate to contact with us if you have
any questions about the use of chainsaws. We will
provide you with advice as well as help, on how to
use the chainsaw safely.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Always use personal protective equipment such as
safety glasses, helmet with visor, protective gloves,
protective clothes from chain cuts, protective boots
and hearing protection.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT ON THE CHAINSAW
Hand guard and chain brake
The chainsaw is equipped with a chain brake (Fig.
16) designed to stop the movement of the chain,
in the event of kickback. The chain brake has been
designed in order to prevent and reduce the risk of
accidents.
Make sure that the kickback zone of the bar never
touches any objects. The chain brake can be activat-
ed either manually by hand (push forward) or auto-
matically by the inertia, when the chainsaw hits an
object downwards. The activation of the chain brake
is achieved with very sudden and violent movement
of the hand guard, due to kickback.
The hand guard is also used to protect the hand hold-
ing the front handle, from the risk of hitting the chain,
if the hand loses the grip from the handle.
The chain brake is also used as a parking brake and
must be engaged before starting the chainsaw. The
chain brake must be deactivated immediately when
the chainsaw starts up.
Chain catcher
The chain catcher is used to catch the chain if it
jumps out of the bar, due to inappropriate tension of
the chain. The chain catcher protects the user from
serious injury. If the chain catcher is hurt, it must be
replaced with new one.
Vibration system
The chainsaw is equipped with anti-vibration ele-
ments, to minimize the vibration and make the oper-
ation easier. The anti-vibration system also protects
the user from excessive vibration, which can result to
circulatory damage or nerve damage. The symptoms
of circulatory damage are loss of fingers feeling, pain,
loss of strength and changes on skin color. The vibra-
tion generated by the engine and the cutting equip-
ment is being reduced and prevented to be trans-
ferred on the handles of the chainsaw. The harder the
cutting wood is, the higher vibration level is and the
sharpened the chain is, the lower vibration level is.
CUTTING EQUIPMENT
The chain teeth must always be in a well sharpened
condition. Damaged or not properly sharpened
chain, may increase the risk of accidents. Manage and
maintain the correct depth gauge, since too large
clearance increases the risk of kickback. Manage and
maintain the correct tension of the chain. Slack chain
may lead to chain jump out of the bar and wear on the
bar, chain and drive sprocket. Manage and lubricate
properly the cutting equipment. Poor lubrication on
the chain may lead to the breakage of the chain, wear
on the bar and drive sprocket.
Chain sharpening
If you are not familiar with sharpening your chainsaw
chain, we propose to sharpen it professionally at
your nearest service center.
Always use protective glasses and gloves when
sharpening the chain. Use a round file to sharpen the
cutters with outward strokes. After sharpening the
cutters, make sure that they have the same width
and length. The depth limiter must be lowered after
sharpening the cutters, using a flat file.
Chain tensioning
The chain tension is very important and must be
checked before operating the chainsaw. The better
the chain is tensioned, the best cuts you make! (See
fitting bar and chain)
Chain lubrication
The chainsaw is equipped with automatic chain lu-
brication system. Always use chain oil indicated for
chain and bar lubrication, with good adhesion to the
chain. Waste engine oil must never being used, since
it can be dangerous for the user and can lead to the
oil pump damage.

INSTALLING GUIDE BAR AND SAW CHAIN

A standard saw unit package contains the items as
shown below.: (Fig. 1)
(Fig. 1.1) Power unit (Fig. 1.2) Saw chain
(Fig. 1.3) Guide bar (Fig. 1.4) Guide bar scabbard
(Fig. 1.5) Plug wrench (Fig. 1.6) File
Open the box and install the guide bar and the saw
