Megohmmeter
Before measurement,
• Turn the selector switch to the OFF position and verify the battery
charge.
• Check that the instrument and cables was not damaged : if so,
don't use the instrument and contact your distributor.
• During a measurement, don't turn the selector switch ; it could
damage the instrument.
• Connect the test leads to the circuit being measured.
• Turn the selector switch to the ACV position.
• Press the TEST ON button.
• Read the value of voltage from the LCD.
Before starting an insulation measurement, please read the following
specific safety information carefully :
• If the selection switch is on 250, 500 or 1000 V position, connect test
leads to the circuit being measured before START the
measurement.
• Don't touch connections and terminals during a measurement.
• Some electrical equipment, especially cables, may retain an electrical
charge when disconnected from the line. It is good practice to
discharge such equipment with grounding straps, or other suitable
devices, before touching or making connections.
• For the same reason, after an insulation test, the megohmmeter
automatically discharge the test circuits through internal discharge
resistor : wait for disconnecting test leads.
• Ensure the circuit being tested is not live before connections.
• Connect the test leads to the circuit being tested.
• Caution : If the "LIVE CIRCUIT" indicator is light, do not press the
test on button and disconnect the instrument from the circuit. The
circuit is LIVE and should be de-energised before further testing.
• Turn the selector switch to the 250, 500 or 1000 V position.
• Press the TEST ON button : the POWER indicator is light ; it means
that a test is running.
• The value of insulation resistance in megohms will be displayed.
• To stop the test, press TEST OFF button when the measurement
result is stable.
• Wait the complete circuit discharge before disconnecting test leads.
