Installation Instructions - Recessed Housing Platforms P406TAT - Non IC, Shallow and P408ICAT - IC
Dimminge: Dimming quartz halogen lamps (MR16) may
reduce lamp life. Low voltage fixtures with solid state or
magnetic transformers require proper dimming equipment.
An improper dimmer may cause damage to the transformer
and shorten lamp life. Consult factory for dimmer
recommendations. Some sound may be emitted by the
transformer and/or the dimmer in the dimmed mode.
Consult your local IRiS representative for further information
on dimming, installation or lamp compatibility.
Special Instructions and Applications
Modulese: Modules can be snapped into housing platform
before of after it is installed into the ceiling. When possible,
use top access feature to install module prior to housing
installation. Refer to the Installation Instruction sheet for the
module being used for proper installation instructions.
Lamping Notee: Use only lamp listed on the element label.
Elementse: Installation of element into housing platform
is performed after the housing platform is installed in the
ceiling, the module is installed in housing platform and the
aperture opening has been cut into the ceiling. Refer to the
Installation Instruction sheet for the element being used for
proper installation and lamping instructions.
Top Access and Re-Lamping (Figure 11.)e: Top access is
obtained by loosening the top access screw on the housing
platform and lifting or removing the top. This will allow for
inspecting and servicing the fixture without removal. In
addition to normal re-lamping from below the ceiling, the
P406TAT and P408ICAT housing platforms can be re-lamped
using top access. A minimum of 10" clearance above the
housing is recommended to allow top access. The installer
must insure proper clearance for access to the fixture.
