Spooling
You can wind any thread you want onto the bobbins which are supplied or other metal
bobbins of the same size with the sewing machine.
CAUTION!
■
If there is a bobbin in the bobbin compartment, remove it before you start spooling!
Ensure that no upper thread is threaded either because the needle moves back and
forth during spooling.
28
1. Place a spool of thread onto the thread spool pin (20) so
that the thread spool rotates clockwise when you pull on
the thread.
2. Wrap the thread around the upper part of thread guide
1 (12), but not into the gap in the thread guide as when
threading in the upper thread.
3. Take a metal bobbin and feed the end of the thread from
the inside to the outside through one of the small holes in
the bobbin and let it project out for approx. 10 cm.
4. Push the bobbin as far as it will go onto the winder pin (24).
5. Slide the winder pin to the right until it engages.
6. While you hold the end of the thread with one hand, press
the foot control (25) or slide the On/Off switch (5) to L or H.
The winder pin rotates and the thread is wound onto the
bobbin. If necessary, take the thread which is to be wound
between your thumb and index fi nger of your other hand
and guide it so that it is not wound underneath the bobbin.
7. Stop after a few turns and cut off the protruding end of the
thread on the side of the bobbin.
8. Switch the sewing machine on again until the desired
amount of thread is wound on.
9. Stop the sewing machine, cut through the thread, slide the
winder pin to the left and remove the bobbin.
