9 TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEMS
- The pump is not taking in water (not loading).
- The pump is supplying water but there is no
pressure.
- The connecting pipes are vibrating excessively.
- Anomalous drop in pressure
- Flow rate with water leaking
CAUSES
1. The seal of one or more valves could be missing.
a) Internal valves
b) External valves
2. The pressure control valve has not been lifted up.
3. The filter is clogged.
4. The intake fitting is loose or the intake pipe has a hole
in it.
5. The pump has not been used for a long time, the valves
have rusted and stuck.
a) Internal valves
b) External valves
1. The control valve is worn.
2. The pump is taking in air.
1. There could be solid particles stuck between the valve
plate and housing.
a) Internal valves
b) External valves
- Worn seals
- Damaged O-rings
- Reproduction forbidden -
REMEDIES
1. a) Remove the head and change the metal parts of the
valves.
b) Remove the valve cap and change the worn parts.
2. Loosen the pressure adjusting screw.
3. Clean the filter or change it if broken.
4. Secure the fitting properly or change the holed part of
the intake pipe
5. a) Remove the head, clean the plates and valve
housings.
b) Remove the valve cap and clean the valve plates and
housings.
1. Change the control valve.
2. Tighten the intake pipe properly.
1. a) Remove the head and any such particles from
between the valve plate and housing.
b) Remove the valve cap and any such particles from
between the valve plate and housing.
- Change the seals
- Change the O-rings.
