To guarantee the longevity of your LED illumination units the VisiLED control-
lers are fitted with an integrated thermo guard. They continuously monitor the
temperature of the connected illumination units.
When one of the connected LED illuminations reaches a specified warning
temperature the red LED (8) on the MC 1500 begins to blink. In addition, the
green LED display (1) blinks on the heated LED unit. An example of a tempera-
ture warning is shown beside*.
The blinking frequency increases if the LED temperature approaches the maxi-
mum permitted temperature. Should the illumination unit heat up too much
then the thermo guard automatically switches off the illumination unit and the
red LED display (8) is permanently lit up.
When the brightness setting is turned down slightly via key (5 "down") or if
the LED illumination cools down to below the warning temperature then the
LED illumination is automatically activated again.
To avoid the automatic switching off process please turn down the light
intensity setting slightly if the blink frequency of the red LED (8) increases.
●
The thermo guard measures the temperature close to the LEDs. The housing
of the LED illuminations heats up at a considerably lower rate (Please also
see "Information for operating the LED transmitted light brightfield stage"
in Section 3.)
●
The maximum permitted temperature depends on the light intensity
setting.
●
High ambient temperatures or unfavorable installation conditions for the
LED illuminations can lead to the warning temperature already being
reached when the illumination unit is not yet in overdrive mode (see
Section 7.3).
