LUBRICATING THE BLADES
For easier operation and longer blade life, lubricate the blades
BEFORE and AFTER each use. Never lubricate the blades while the
motor is running or the blades are moving.
1. Stop the motor, wait for all moving parts to stop, remove the
battery, and allow the unit to cool.
2. Turn the unit upside down (Fig. 14).
3. Apply a light machine oil between the upper blade and lower
blade (Fig. 14). Apply oil along the full length of the blades.
MAINTAINING THE BLADES
The cutting blades are made of high-quality, hardened steel. During
normal use, they will not require resharpening unless they become
nicked by contact with hard objects, such as wire fencing, glass,
stones or bricks.
If a nick occurs and it interferes with operation:
1. Stop the motor, wait for all moving parts to stop, remove the
battery, and allow the unit to cool.
2. Use a fine-toothed file or sharpening stone to remove the nick.
