1. Introduction
This manual will explain how to use Y&Y belay glasses.
The activities involving the use of this product are
naturally dangerous. Therefore, it is imperative to
respect the instructions of this manual. Otherwise it
could lead to an accident.
We recommend reading carefully the instructions before
using the belay glasses. Please simulate its use in order
to get used to the product.
The user assumes full responsibility for his actions and
Y&Y Vertical shall not be held liable for any incident
due to incorrect utilization. If you have any doubts or
difficulties understanding this manual please contact

3. Use of the belay glasses
Wearing the Y&Y belay glasses prevents the belayer
from any neck pain and provides a better concentration.
It is highly recommended to get used to them before
the first use.
a- For the optimal use of our product, it should be
placed high on the nose, in front of the eyes
b- The frame is thin and allows a twofold perspective:
1. A view of the climber
2. A peripheral vision which allows the belayer to
keep an eye on the surroundings (rope and
belay device) and to control his movements.
4. Wearable with eyeglasses and sunglasses
Belay glasses should be placed in front of the
eyeglasses/sunglasses, as close as possible to your
eyes.
To place them correctly, you will need to slightly push
back your eyeglasses/sunglasses, but this will not affect
your vision.
5. Safety notice
a. Through the prisms, the perception of distance may
seem shorter than reality. That might slightly influence
the balance. Gradually finding points of reference in
the space will help you adapt more quickly to the use
of the glasses.
b. The belayer should at first place the glasses on the tip
of the nose and then move them, as soon as the climber
reaches the second anchor (about 3 meters), in front of
his eyes. Please always keep a hand on the rope.
c. First uses may strain the eyes depending on each
user's view. But this will quickly disappear. If not, this
might be due to the flaw of prism parallelism. In this
case please check the terms of guarantee.
