Enter the following command in this
line and then press the Enter key
(Return): „ping 192.168.X.XX" (enter
without quotation marks and replace
X.XXX by the IP address of your
ReelBox).
This command sends data packs from
your PC/notebook to the ReelBox.
If you receive a response from the
ReelBox, then your network has been
properly configured.
Network connection
with Wireless Access Point
(infrastructure mode)
Preparation of the ReelBox
Open in the Setup menu
„2 Network", „1 Global options"
and then „3 Wireless LAN".
Select at „Use WLAN" the entry
„Yes" and confirm with „OK".
Issue an IP address manually from
the address range of your network
or alternatively set the parameter
„Use DHCP" to „Yes", in case you let
your router / access point issue IP
addresses dynamically.
Enter at „1 WEP Settings" at
„(E)SSID" the name of your wireless
network.
Set the „Mode" to „managed"
(infrastructure mode).
Activate the WEP encoding by
setting „Security" to „restricted".
Select the radio channel from
„Channel" that your wireless
network uses.
Select the matching WEP key from
„Use WEP Key".
Preparation of the access point /
router
Because the configuration of the
Access Points / Routers vary
significantly between manufacturers,
only a few notes will be provided on
the setup in the following.
In the router, the WEP encoding
needs to be used and the respective
10-digit, hexadecimal code needs to
be entered.
In case you have activated „Use
DHCP" during the setup of the
ReelBox, the DHCP server needs to
be activated in the access point /
router.

Updating software

Software update

A software update of the ReelBox can
be used to add new commands or
correct known faults.
The current update file is available for
down loading from the following Intern
address:
www.reel-multimedia.com/
rmm-english/download.html
Click at „Currently available
software" on Download and save the
update file on your computer.
Creating an update DVD
The following description refers to the
burner software Nero Burning ROM
V6.6 and Windows XP as operating
system.
In case you are using a different
software for burning DVDs, make sure
that the update file is burned as an
image file on the DVD. Refer to the
respective instructions on what steps
to take.
Insert the blank DVD into your
burner drive.
