Leakage test
– Carry out visual test of all connections.
– Test pressure 4-5 bar
– Pressure variations due to changing solar radiation
may occur.
Filling and bleeding of the solar circuit
– Set ball valves and check valves to operating posi-
tion (illustr. 38).
– Open both fill and drain ball valves at the balancing
valve.
– The ball valve for regulation at the flow measuring
device must be fully closed (screwdriver slot in ho-
rizontal position).
– Switch on filling pump.
– Operate filling pump until no more air bubbles are
visible in the liquid canister. Depending on the in-
stallation this may take 30-90 min.
– Close the fill and drain ball valve at the balancing
valve once the required system pressure has been
reached.
Setting of the system pressure
– Condition: Correct pressure at the inlet of the dia-
phragm expansion tank during installation. If the
system has been filled, the inlet pressure can only
be determined if the diaphragm expansion tank has
been isolated and depressurized.
– Escaping air can lead to a decrease of the system
pressure within a few days after filling.
Suggestion
During filling, set system pressure about 0.1 – 0.2 bar
above the value indicated in the table.
