BL-1 18A Brushless-controller
STEP 1:
Connect the motor and receiver to the speed controller.
2:
Remove battery power from the BL-1 speed controller.
3:
Move throttle stick on full power position (UP Position).
4:
Turn on the Transmitter.
5:
Reconnect battery power to the speed controller
6:
You will hear "beep, beep" two sound from motor, move throttle stick to the
lowest power position (DOWN position) in 2 seconds.
controller will enter the "detail setup menu".
7:
You will hear 2 or 3 sounds ("beep, beep" or "beep, beep, beep") from the motor.
This announce you the cells of the current Lipo battery you are using. Then you will
hear another sound "beep" from the motor. This is to confirm that you can control the
brushless motor with your transmitter.
The above steps are only required for the first time to set up the brushless controller. From then
on, if you are using the same transmitter, just move the throttle stick to the lowest power position
(Down position), turn on the transmitter, connect the battery to the speed controller, then you can
start to control the motor after you hear the confirm sound "beep" from the motor.
Attention:
18 A is 2 cells or 3 cells LI-PO auto setting (You can force to select 2 LI-PO by push the selector
Switch jumper, or pull out jumper select 3 LI-PO)
Cutoff Voltage is
5.7V/2 Lipo, or 8.55/3 Lipo.
The number of servo is converse to the battery voltage, when the battery voltage is high, we use l
Less servos.
When the voltage is under 7,4 V, we can use 4 micro or mini servos.
When the voltage reach 11,1V, we can only use 3 micro servos, to prevent the BEC system to be
Too hot.
All functions such as Timing mode, battery type, cutoff voltage, brake ON/OFF for the ThunderBird
brushless version already been set in factory. Please don't enter the "detail setup menu". If you
want to use this brushless speedcontroller in other plane or with other motor, all the functions
mentioned above can be set up. Please enter the "detail setup menu" and refer to the manual
of the brushless speedcontroller attached.
