The regulations on the material being machined that apply in
the country of use must be observed.
Avoid dust accumulation at the workplace. Dust can
u
easily ignite.
Connecting the dust extraction system (see figure D)
To optimise the dust extraction, push the hood (20) into the
base plate (3) from below.
Insert an extraction hose (diameter 35 mm, accessory) into
the extraction outlet (13). Connect the extraction hose to a
dust extractor (accessory).
You will find an overview of connecting to various dust ex-
tractors at the end of these operating instructions.
The dust extractor must be suitable for the material being
worked.
When extracting dry dust that is especially detrimental to
health or carcinogenic, use a special dust extractor.
Operation
Products that are only sold in AUS and NZ: Use a resid-
u
ual current device (RCD) with a nominal residual current
of 30 mA or less.
Never bend the saw blade
u
Operating modes
Pull the plug out of the socket before carrying out any
u
work on the power tool.
Adjusting the mitre/bevel angle (AdvancedCut 50)
The base plate (3) can be swivelled to the right to make
mitre/bevel cuts up to 45°.
The anti-splinter guard (17), hood (20) for the dust extrac-
tion system and the depth stops (18) and (19) cannot be
used while mitre/bevel cuts are being made. If necessary, re-
move these components from the base plate.
Loosen the wing bolt (14) for the mitre/bevel angle setting.
Swivel the power tool sideways until the required cutting
angle is set on the scale (15). Retighten the wing bolt (14).
Cut Control for mitre/bevel cuts (AdvancedCut 50)
Cut Control enables the power tool to be guided precisely
along a cutting line marked on the workpiece. Cut Control
includes the viewing window (10) with cut marks and the
base (12) for securing to the power tool.
(9)
(14)
(10)
To enable you to track the cutting line (Cut Control), the
viewing window for Cut Control (10) has a mark (9) for

right-angled cuts at 0° and a mark (11) for leftward-slanting
mitre cuts at 45° according to the scale (15).
The cut mark for mitre angles between 0° and 45° is propor-
tional. It can also be marked on the viewing window for
Cut Control (10) using a non-permanent marker and easily
removed again.
We recommend making a test cut for precise results.
Starting Operation
Pay attention to the mains voltage. The voltage of the
u
power source must match the voltage specified on the
rating plate of the power tool. Power tools marked
with 230 V can also be operated with 220 V.
Switching on/off
To switch on the power tool, press the on/off switch (1) and
keep it pressed.
To switch off the power tool, release the on/off switch (1).
Note: For safety reasons, the on/off switch (1) cannot be
locked; it must remain pressed during the entire operation.
Preselecting/controlling the speed
You can adjust the speed of the power tool when it is on by
pressing in the on/off switch (1) to varying extents. Slight
pressure on the on/off switch (1) results in a low rotational
speed. Increased pressure on the switch causes an increase
in speed.
AdvancedCut 50: You can preselect the speed using the
speed preselection thumbwheel (2) .
The required speed depends on the material and the work-
ing conditions; it can be ascertained through practical tests.
It is advisable to reduce the speed when placing the saw
blade on the workpiece.
During prolonged periods of use at a low speed, the power
tool may heat up significantly. Remove the saw blade and let
the power tool run at maximum speed for around 3 minutes
to cool down.
Working Advice
Pull the plug out of the socket before carrying out any
u
work on the power tool.
Switch the power tool off immediately if the saw blade
u
becomes blocked.
Always use a sturdy support when working on small or
u
thin workpieces.
Saw with moderate pressure in order to achieve optimal and
precise cutting results. Applying additional pressure in-
creases performance.
Sawing with the guide rail (see figures E–F)
(AdvancedCut 50)
Use a guide rail to extend the base plate and increase the
size of the contact surface.
You can use the guide rail (24) to make straight cuts.
You must fit the guide rail adapter (22) for work with the
guide rail (24). Insert the guide rail adapter through the four
