2.2 Description
The closed measuring system with liquid filling consists of a temperature probe, a capillary
and a Bourdon tube. Heat applied to the temperature probe produces change in pressure
in the closed system. This results in deflection of the Bourdon tube which is displayed via
the the pointer shaft.
In the event of any faults, the safety temperature limiter model SB15 puts the system into a
safe operating condition. The shifting disk, which is arranged on the pointer shaft, actuates
the switching operation at the micro switch when reaching the non-adjustable switch point
or in case of measuring line break and locks the current status.
A reset is only possible, after the scale value drops below the set switch point by approx.
3 % of the scale range, provided that there is no measuring line break (for instructions for
reset, see chapter 5.7 "Unlocking and restoring the operating state").
The safety temperature monitor model SW15 is used for monitoring plants. When a fixed
switch point is reached or when there is a measuring line break, the micro switch triggers
a switching operation. This action is carried out by means of a shifting disc that is arranged
at the pointer shaft. The safety temperature monitor switches back automatically after the
specified safe operating condition has been reached.
