To reactivate the "Beep" function, repeat the above process. By the way,
beep tone is controled by rotary volume switch.
b) MEMORY 6 : This button is used to store the channel you want at memory
mode.
14)EMERGENCY, MEMORY 7
a) EMERGENCY : Your HARRISON has an Emergency button for instant access to
both the National Emergency channel 9, which is monitored by police and
various safety groups, as well as the most frequently used channel by
professional drivers, channel 19. This feature has been designed specifically
to give the user fast, simple access to the two channels that will provide the
best avenue in calling for help during an emergency situation. To access
channel 9, firstly press "M1" button. "SCAN, AUTO-Q, MON, BEEP, EMG" will
appear at the bottom line on the LCD. After that simply press the "M7" button
once. "EMG" and channel "09" will appear on the LCD. If you would like to
access channel 19, simply turn the rotary channel switch to the right-handed
or press the "▲" button in the Mike. If you would like to access channel 9 once
again, turn the rotary channel switch counterclockwise or press "▼" button
on the mike. To deactivate either of these channels once they have been
selected, simply press the "M7" button.
b) MEMORY 7 : This button is used to store the channel you want at memory
mode.
15)RF GAIN:
This knob is for adjusting sensitivity during reception. For long distance
communications RF GAIN should be set to maximum. RF GAIN can be
reduced to avoid distortion, when your correspondent is close by and when
he does not have RF POWER.
The normal setting of this knob is on maximum (fully clockwise).

The receiver and transmitter are controlled by the Push-to-talk switch. Press
the switch and the transmitter is activated : you can now send a message and
"TX" and "RF" will be displayed on the LCD. To receive, release the Push-To-
Talk button and then TX will disappear and "S" will appear on the LCD When
transmitting, hold the MIC two inches from your mouth and speak clearly with
a normal voice into the front of the speaker grill area.
