NOTE: If decreased movement is desired, consider installing an optional mortar
cement bed following the "Install a Mortar Cement Bed" steps.
NOTE: To avoid damaging the finish of the bath, make sure that there is a drop cloth
or other protective liner in the bath before proceeding.
Secure the Apron
Drill two 1/16" (2 mm) pilot holes through each apron flange and into a stud.
Fasten each apron flange to the stud using non-tapered flathead screws.
NOTE: If the apron flanges have broken off from the apron, ensure that the apron is
held in place by the wooden blocks (previously installed). If a baseboard will be
installed at the apron, drill pilot holes and fasten the apron to the wooden blocks.
Secure the Bath
NOTE: Attach the bath using the support clips (provided). Refer to the "Roughing-In"
section for proper placement.
Install roofing nails or flathead screws through the apron extension side tabs into
the studs.
Verify the studs are within 1/8" (3 mm) of the bath at the recommended support
clip or screw locations. Shim if necessary.
At the side of the stud, position the bottom lip of the support clip under the
flange of the bath, as shown.
Slide the support clip into place between the center of the stud and the bath.
Using a pliers, bend the tab of the support clip over the bath flange.
Repeat these steps for the remaining support clips.
