Preface
This is the installation manual for TOM.
TOM is a thermostatic radiator valve
which you can add to your existing ZigBee
network (Home Automation 1.2).
TOM communicates via the open ZigBee-
standard "Home Automation 1.2".
Check beforehand how you can add TOM
to your system. Please consult the manual
of the ZigBee gateway you want TOM
to connect to, in order to find the right
procedure.

TOM is equipped for connection on
M30x1,5mm radiator valves. TOM is
supplied with the adapter rings M28 and
Danfoss RA. If your radiator is suited with
a different connection, please contact
your installer to see if an adapter ring is
available for your system.
Do not install Tom with the USB adapter
if you want to use TOM together with
batteries. The battery lifetime will reduce
dramatically in case you have installed

TOM with the USB adapter and then
change to battery power supply. Do you
want to switch the power supply later?
Remove TOM from the network and
re-add TOM to the network connected to
the right power supply.
Never install Tom with batteries and USB-
adapter at the same time!
When powering up TOM, it will try to
calibrate. Therefore, do not leave TOM
powered when it is not mounted on a
radiator.
Never mount TOM if the valve pin is
extended. Before mounting TOM on the
radiator, make sure that the valve pin is
fully retracted.

First power up TOM as described in step 2. When
powering up TOM, it will try to calibrate.
TOM will be retracting and then extending. Remove
the power supply when the pin is fully retracted.
