MAINTENANCE.

This part of the manual is important for the proper use of the welding equipment. It
does not contain specific maintenance instructions, since this machine does not require
a routine maintenance service. The precautions to be considered are the usual ones for
any electric welding equipment.
It is advisable to avoid shocks and any form of exposure of the machine to falls,
excessive heat sources or other situations.
In the case of transport and/or storage, the welding equipment must not be exposed
to temperatures outside the range: -25ºC to + 55ºC or air humidity greater than 90%.
In case of malfunction or breakdown, do not try to repair it unless you have the
appropriate technical qualifications and tools. Contact one of our technical services,
which are listed on our website www.grupocevik.es.
Maintenance or repair performed by unauthorized technical services will void and
terminate the manufacturer's warranty.
Fix the uncoated end of the electrode in the electrode
holder and connect the ground clamp to the piece to be
welded, always ensuring poper electrical contact. Cover
your eyes and face with the protection screen and try to
rub the tip of the electrode on the piece to be welded,
following a movement as if you wanted to light a match;
This is the most correct method to generate the arc.
Replace the electrode when its tip is only 2-3 cm away
from the electrode holder.
CAUTION: DO NOT TAP the electrode on the
piece as the coating could be damaged, making it more
difficult to attract the arc. Once the arc is achieved, try
to maintain a distance from the piece equivalent to the
diameter of the electrode used, and keep this distance
as constant as possible during welding, remembering
that the forward inclination of the electrode must be
between 20 and 30 degrees.
CAUTION: Always use a clamp to remove the
consumed electrodes and discard them in a metal
container free of flammable elements. Make sure to
use the proper tools and hand protection when
handling the parts once welded, as the high
temperatures reached during the welding process
may remain in the welded pieces, accessories and
tools for an extended period of time. Unplug the
machine and pick up the cables once the work is
finished to avoid accidents.
