PREPARING FOR THE WELDING.
The ground connection of all metal elements in the installation of the welder and adjacent to it
must be considered. However, the metallic elements connected to the work piece will increase
the operator's risk of receiving an electric shock by simultaneously touching the electrode and
said elements. The operator must be isolated from all connected metallic components.
SCREENS AND SHIELDS.
The selective use of screens and shields of other cables and equipment in the work area can
reduce interference problems. The total protection of the installation can be considered for
specific uses.
CONNECTION TO THE POWER SUPPLY.
Before connecting the network cable (7) to the power supply, make sure the data on the nameplate
matches this latter's values. Connect the machine to a socket with suitable protective devices and
ground connection. Make sure all connections are solid to avoid bad contacts and overheating.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS.

ELECTRODE WELDING PROCESS.
The electric arc increases the temperature of the materials to their melting point, allowing the
electrode to provide the material that, when melted, attaches to the metal pieces to be welded.
During the process, the coating of the electrode generates a gas that stabilizes the current arc,
protecting the welding from contamination, and is deposited as slag on the weld bead.
EXECUTION OF WELDING WITH COATED ELECTRODE.
After having made all the necessary electrical connections, both the power cable and the welding
cables, and having selected the electrode diameter and current intensity, proceed as follows:
1. Electrode
2. Coating
3. Nucleus
4. Electric arc
5. Protective gas
6. Melted metal
7. Slag
8. Weld bead
