Test weighing
Test weighing should be carried out
when a different kind of grain is to
be weighed and after having al-
tered the fine-weighing adjustment
in order to make sure that the
weighed batches correspond to the
adjusted batch weight.
The test and adjustment proce-
dure is carried out in the follow-
ing way:
Raise the release hook (4) and turn
it to the left (anticlockwise). This
prevents the discharge mechanism
operating and the weighed quantity
will stay in the weigher.
After filling is completed the posi-
tion of the balance pointer (2)
shows the weighed quantity in
relation to the adjusted batch
weight. If the pointer is at 0 on the
scale (1), the weighing is correct. If
the pointer is e. g. at -2, the
weighed quantity is short of 2 kg.
Correct by turning the adjusting
screw (5) to the left (towards +).
Each „click" of the adjusting screw
will reduce or increase the weight
of the batches by approx. 0.25 kg.
Note: Turning of the adjusting
screw does not change the balance
of the weigher with the already
weighed quantity. The change ap-
pears on the next weighing.
Empty the weigher by raising the
release pawl (3). Repeat the test
procedure until the weigher is in
balance.
After test weighing activate the
emptying device by turning the
release hook (4) back to working
position.
If the weigher is fed by means of a
conveyor, take care that the con-
veyor is not blocked during test
weighing. It may under certain
conditions be necessary to stop the
conveyor after each test weighing.
Fine-weighing
To ensure accurate operation of the
weigher it is necessary to reduce
the inlet opening during the last few
moments of filling (fine-weighing).
However, this reduces the capacity
of the weigher, as filling takes long-
er time. It is, therefore, recom-
mended to restrict the flow to the
weigher in accordance with the
weighed material and the required
capacity.
The width of the inlet opening is
adjusted by means of the screw (8).
For oats the openings should be
30-35 mm, for barley, rye and
wheat 25-30 mm and for rape,
mustard etc. 15-20 mm.
The fine-weighing starts when the
balance pointer is at point B. Start
too late impedes accurate opera-
tion of the weigher. Start too early
reduces the capacity. The starting
position can be adjusted by means
of the screw (9).
Do not forget to tighten the lock-
nuts of the screw. After having
altered the fine-weighing adjust-
ment a test weighing should be
carried out.
Counter
The counter records the number of
batches passing through the weigh-
er. The weighed quantity equals the
number of weighed batches ∞ the
weight of the batches. See the
paragraph „Setting up of required
batch weight".
Set counter to zero: Put the key in
the left-hand side of the counter
and turn it clockwise until all of the
