4.2.3 Filter replacement
The ElectroMax filter needs to be cleaned when the •••• and •
leds on the display blink. The PreFilter and the activated carbon
filter need to be replaced as well. Control of the air cleaner will
remain as usual and the blinking described will disappear.
However, the unit will give a reminder when started up after a
mains disruption or disconnect when the air cleaner has not
been reset in the way described in section 4.2.2.

Control AirMonitor
See fig. 4 on page 60
The AirMonitor can be switched on with the

led [A] on the unit blinks during the warming

up of the sensor. This takes some 5 minutes after which the
analysis phase starts.
The air quality is analysed for two minutes at the lowest fan
speed. The appropriate fan setting will be selected
automatically thereafter. The number of green leds activated on
the display shows the fan speed mode. The AirMonitor can be
switched off with the
OFF
fan speed mode.
The fan will not operate continuously when the air is clean.
Nevertheless, the air quality will be checked (at the lowest fan
speed) every 10 minutes.
The sensitivity of the AirMonitor is set by your distributor. If the
air cleaner reacts unsatisfactory, please contact your
distributor.

Setting the FreeBreeze
See fig. 5 on page 60
The fragrance intensity of the FreeBreeze is adjustable. The blue
control button for the FreeBreeze cartridges is situated behind
the extraction grid.
- Clockwise: lower fragrance intensity.
- Counter-clockwise: higher fragrance intensity.
4.5
Control of the outlet grids
See fig. 6 on page 60
The exhaust grid direction is adjustable and the grid can also be
fully closed. To avoid possible overheating of the fan do not
close all exhaust grids sumultaneously.

MAINTENANCE
5.1
Filter replacement/cleaning frequency
The filters will clog up after some time and this causes a
deterioration of the filtration capacity of the air cleaner. The
filter replacement/cleaning frequency depends on the local
situation, the fan speed selected and the operating time of the

unit. The X-Changer can be used to understand the filter
replacement/cleaning frequency better and your distributor may
give advice.
Tip:
Why not consider a service and maintenance contract, which
includes the replacement/cleaning of the filters?
5.2
Filter replacement/cleaning
See page 61
5.2.1 PreFilter replacement
The disposable PreFilter can only be used once and cannot be
cleaned. Do not turn the PreFilter around since it can only be
used in one flow direction. The manufacturer recommends to
replace the PreFilter each time the ElectroMax filter is cleaned.
5.2.2 ElectroMax filter cleaning
A crackling sound will be heard occasionally during use of the
air cleaner. This is normal and is caused by the production of
sparks in the filter. Cleaning the ElectroMax filter becomes
necessary when the crackling is heard frequently. The
distributor can supply the cleaning bin required and the special
cleaning fluid EFC. The instructions on the label of the cleaning
fluid should be followed closely.
5.2.3 Activacted carbon or OdourFree filter replacement
The disposable activated carbon or the OdourFree filters can
only be used once and cannot be cleaned. They are located
behind the ElectroMax filter. The manufacturer recommends to
replace the activated carbon filter each time the ElectroMax
filter is cleaned. The OdourFree filter should be replaced at least
3 times per year.
5.3
FreeBreeze replacement
See page 60
The FreeBreeze fragrance cartridges will be spent after some
time. Replace the FreeBreeze fragrance cartridges regularly.
5.4
SterilAir and AirMonitor maintenance
Have the functioning of the SterilAir and AirMonitor checked
regularly by the distributor.
5.5
Cleaning of the outside of the unit
Wipe the outside of the unit with a moist cloth. Do not under
any circumstances use cleaning products that contain ammonia
or abrasives. The unit is not resistant to organic solvents, such
as benzene, etc. It is possible that the AirMonitor temporarily
reacts abnormally to the detection of the cleaning agents.
