Changing the cover:
Cover the mattress only with an original PU cover from
Drive Medical; ensure that the label with two feet is at the
foot of the mattress and is legible from above.
IMPORTANT!!!
Do not use any sheepskins or the like; this can impair the
mode of action of an anti-decubitus mattress.
Cleaning | maintenance
GENERAL
In the case of reuse/patient change, the mattress must
be cleaned and disinfected according to a validated me-
thod recommended by the Robert Koch Institute.
• During processing of the anti-decubitus positioning
systems, take note of the medical device law, the „Gui-
delines for the Processing of Medical Devices" as well
as the „Guidelines for Hospital Hygiene and Infection
Prevention" of the Robert Koch Institute.
• Use only disinfectants and method according to the list
of the RKI (Robert Koch Institute) or VAH (Association
for Applied Hygiene).

COVER
• The cover can be cleaned by hand. For this purpose,
use a moist (not wet) cloth and a mild cleaning and dis-
infectant solution.
• You can wash the cover in the washing machine at
max. 95°C using a household detergent. Manual dis-
infection must be performed according to a validated
method. Recommendations of the RKI or VAH should
be followed.
• For machine cleaning and disinfection, a valida-
ted, automatic method according to RKI or VAH is
recommended.
• The mattress cover can be dried in the dryer, however
this is not recommended.
Care instructions: Do not use any hypochlorite cleaners!
Please speak to your specialist dealer if you have any
further questions about disinfectants and disinfectant
options.
GRAVIMED PROTEXX MATTRESS CORE
• Autoclavable according to a validated method accor-
ding to RKI up to 75°C
• Can be cleaned by hand; for this purpose use a moist
(not wet) cloth with warm water and a mild cleaning
solution
• DO NOT SCRUB OR BRUSH

Storage
• Store the GRAVIMED soft positioning mattresses in a
clean and dry condition.
• Store the mattress flat and decompressed and wrap-
ped in film.
• Protect the mattress core from direct sunlight.
Disposal
Please contact your local waste management company
regarding professional disposal. Please be aware that
the mattress and cover may be carrying microbes. This
can lead to transmission of infection.
Please dispose of the overlay and mattress cover such
that there is no risk to you and third parties.
