Blade removal
1. Unplug the saw from the outlet.
2. Allow the cutting head to rise to the upright po-
sition. Loosen the cover plate screw (Fig. 9.2)
with a screwdriver.
3. Raise the lower blade guard (Fig. 18.1) to the
upper position.
4. Rotate the cover plate (Fig. 18.3) towards the

18.4).
5. Place the wrench on the blade bolt.
6. Locate the lock button on the operation han-
dle.
7. Press the lock button holding it in firmly while
turning the blade wrench clockwise. The lock
will engage after turning the wrench. Continue
to hold the lock button in to keep it engaged
while turning the wrench clockwise to loosen
the blade bolt.
8. Remove the bolt (Fig. 19.1), washer (Fig. 19.2)
and the blade (Fig. 19.3). Do not remove the in-
ner blade collar. (Fig. 19.4).
Blade installation
1. Unplug the saw from the outlet.
2. Install a 12 in. (305mm) blade with a 1 in.
(25,4mm) inner hole, making sure the rotation
arrow on the blade matches the clockwise ro-
tation arrow on the upper guard and the blade
teeth are pointing downward.
3. Place the washer (Fig. 19.2) against the blade
and on the shaft. Thread the bolt (Fig. 19.1) in
place in a counterclockwise direction.
4. Place the wrench on the blade bolt.
5. Press the lock button holding it in firmly while
turning the blade counterclockwise. When the
lock engages continue to press it in while tight-
ening the blade bolt securely.
6. Rotate the cover plate (Fig. 18.3) back to its
original position until the slot in the cover plate
engages with the cover plate screw (Fig. 18.2).
While holding the lower blade guard, tighten
the screw with a screwdriver.
NOTE
The lower blade guard must be raised to the upright
position to access the cover plate screw.
7. Lower the blade guard (Fig. 18.1) and verify the
proper operation of the guard.
8. Release the lock button so that the blade turns
freely.
WARNING
To avoid injury never use the saw without the cover
plate secure in place. It keeps the blade bolt from
falling out if it accidentally loosens and helps prevent
the spinning blade from coming off the saw. Make
sure the collars are clean and properly arranged.
Lower the blade into the lower table and check for
any contact with the metal base or the miter table.
POWER CORD
To avoid shock or fire hazard, if the power cord is
worm or cut, or damaged in any way, have it re-
place immediately. Electrical connection cables
often suffer insulation damage. Possible causes
are:
1. Punch points when connection cables are run
through window or door gaps.
2. Kinks resulting from incorrect attachment or
laying of the connection cable.
3. Cuts resulting from running over the connect-
ing cable.
4. Insulation damage resulting from forcefully
pulling out of the wall socket.
5. Cracks through aging of insulation.
6. Such
defective
bles must not be used as the insulation damage
makes them extremely hazardous.
LUBRICATION
Periodically lubricate joints of moving parts.
CLEANING
Use a small soft brush to clean the outside of the
unit. Do not use strong detergents. Household
cleaners that contain aromatic oils such as pine
and lemon and solvents such as kerosene can
damage plastic housing or handle. Wipe off any
moisture with a soft cloth. Remove dust, dirt and
machining residues with an appropriate vacuum
cleaner if necessary.
STORAGE
WARNING
Turn the switch off and remove the plug from pow-
er source outlet to store the machine. Store the unit
only in dry and well ventilated areas.
In case the unit will be stored for an extended time,
use the following storage procedure:
1. Thoroughly clean the unit and inspect for any
loose or damaged parts. Repair or replace dam-
aged parts and tighten loose screws, nuts or
bolts.
2. Lubricate and apply grease, where required.
3. Store the unit in its original packaging.
