Only the measuring head needs to be set:
– Set thimble to dimension engraved on the set-
ting gauge, supplied with the instrument.
– Lock micrometer spindle by means of the loc-
king lever.
– Place measuring head on setting gauge and
determine reversal point of the dial indicator by
slightly moving the measuring head in both di-
rections. Check whether the reversal point coin-
cides with the zero point. If so the setting of the
measuring head is correct.
– If not, the measuring head can be set by loose-
ning the locking screw of the indicator bezel and
For measuring internal dimensions the use of the
measuring support is recommended. It is mounted
in the following manner:
Slide support on the cylindrical parts of the fixed
and movable measuring points. Clamp by means of
the corresponding locking screws. The height of the
by turning the latter until the pointer is in zero
position. After this the locking screw is tighte-
ned.
– Check setting by testing whether reversal and
zero point coincide.
– In case of large deviations the measuring sleeve
can be displaced (after loosening the locking
screw).
– The thimble can also be displaced in the fol-
lowing manner: Turn the movable ring on the
protection sleeve. Turn the thimble on zero posi-
tion after which the locking screw can be seen.
– The thimble can now be set by loosening this
screw by means of the Allen key.
three protruding supports on which the instrument
is rested can be adjusted to the required measuring
depth by means of the inch scale on the rods. The
fourth support is adjusted in such a manner as to
cause the instrument to be evently supported. Max.
