TO MOW: USING THE LAWNMOWER
WHEN TO MOW?
Preferably, mow the law when
the grass is dry.
Mow damp or tall grass first
with a high cutting height, then
mow again at the final height
required.
[40 mm] corresponds to the
optimum cutting height adjust-
ment.
ADJUSTING
THE CUTTING HEIGHT
Only make this adjust-
ment when the motor is
switched off and the blade
has stopped.
- Pull the adjustment lever
outwards (1-fig.9), turn it to
the cutting height required
(2-fig.9) and release it into
the new notch (3-fig.9).
The numerical values on the
indicator correspond to the
cutting height in millimetres.
Adjust
the
cutting
according to the mowing
conditions. If the grass to be
mown is very dense or wet,
the cutting height must be
raised.
FITTING THE GRASS BAG
Always carry out this
operation with the motor
switch off.
70
- Lift the safety shield/deflec-
tor and place the grass bag
chute in the ejection chan-
nel, then fasten the bag onto
the lawnmower frame by its
front hooks (fig. 10) and rest
the safety shield/deflector on
the top of the bag.
Before beginning to
mow, check the grass bag
and the safety shield/deflec-
tor are correctly in position
and in good condition: have
them replaced as soon as
they show any signs of
damage.

your lawnmower is directly
connected to the motor and
rotates as soon as the latter is
switched on. Do not start the
motor when the contact is in
contact with long, uncut grass
as this could cause difficulties
starting. Start the lawnmower
with care, in a clear area.
Always keep your feet away
from the blade. Never tip up
your lawnmower when starting
it, or whilst the blade is rota-
ting. If, however, in particular if
there is not enough clear
space, the lawnmower has to
be tipped up to start the motor
and the blade, press on the
handlebar to raise the front
part, without tipping it more
than necessary (fig. 11).
