Mounting and connection

a) Connecting LED-strips, control unit and wall plug transformer
• Connect the two-pin plug (2) of the control unit to the socket of the wall plug transformer. Then tighten the
cap nut (3) so that the plug connection is protected against moisture. Otherwise, penetrating moisture may
lead to corrosion of the connecting contacts.
• Connect the four-pin plug (8) of the LED strip with the output (7) of the control unit. Pay attention to the
correct orientation of the plug (the small pin inside the plug must be inserted into the slot in the connector).
Then tighten the cap nut (6) to ensure that the plug connection is protected against moisture.
b) Attaching the control unit
Before assembly, please note that the IR receiver (9) of the control unit must be placed to ensure
perfect reception of control signals from the IR remote control (direct line of sight between the IR
transmitter (15) and the IR receiver).
Install the control unit (5) where it is shielded against bright lights or direct sunlight. Otherwise
the IR transmitter will be outshone. If the ambient light is too bright, operation of the control unit
is not possible or the range will be greatly reduced.
Depending on the mounting site, it is helpful to protect the control unit on the top and on the
sides from a too high ambient brightness using a cover, so that the IR receiver can function
properly.
Before you proceed to the permanent mounting of the control unit and the IR receiver, check that
they function properly.
• The control unit can be fastened via two lugs (4) (screws not included). Depending on mounting site, you
can also use cable ties or double-sided adhesive tape.
When you screw the control unit into place, make sure that no cables or pipes are damaged
when drilling and tightening the screws.
• Mount the IR receiver (9) of the control unit to a suitable place, e.g. by using a strip of adhesive tape or
a cable tie.
c) Mounting the LED strip
• There are several ways to mount the LED strip:
- With the strip holders (12) and screws (11);
- With the hooks (17) and rubber bands (16); or
- With suitable cable ties (not included in delivery).
When you screw the strip holders into place, make sure that no cables or pipes are damaged
when drilling and tightening the screws.
The LED strip must be mounted in such a way that it is not subjected to mechanical stress. Do
not mount it in such a way that it gets damaged by a person stepping on it.
Do not bend the LED strip.
Never cut the LED strip.
d) Connecting the wall plug transformer
Follow the safety instructions in the section ""c) Installation, Connection and Operation"!
• Connect the wall plug transformer (1) to a proper mains socket of the public supply network.

IR remote control

• The battery is already inserted on delivery. Remove the protective plastic tab in the battery compartment
on the back of the remote control. The remote control is now ready for use.

b) Inserting/changing the remote control battery
Replace the battery if the range of the remote control drops or the control unit no longer reacts to
the remote control.
• Unlock the lock clip on the battery compartment (13) e.g. with a flat screwdriver.
• Pull out the battery holder with the battery.
• Replace the empty button cell battery with a new 3 V button cell, type CR2025. Please pay attention to the
correct polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting the battery. The positive pole is marked with
the "+" symbol and needs to point towards the bottom of the IR remote control.
• Insert the battery holder back into the remote control back until it clicks into place. Pay attention to the
correct orientation and do not use any force!

Care and cleaning

• Always disconnect the product from the power supply before cleaning it. Disconnect the wall plug
transformer from the mains socket.
• Do not use abrasive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these may damage the
casing or stop the product from functioning properly.
• The outside of the housing should only be cleaned with a clean, soft, dry cloth.
Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be placed in household waste. Always
dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory regulations.
Remove any battery in the IR remote control and dispose of it separately.
b) Batteries
You are required by law to return all used batteries. They must not be placed in household waste.
Batteries that contain hazardous substances are labelled with this symbol to indicate that
disposal in domestic waste is forbidden. The abbreviations for heavy metals in batteries are: Cd
= Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead (indicated on the battery, e.g. below the waste icon on the
left).
Used batteries can be returned to local collection points, our stores or battery retailers.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
