Explanation of symbols
The symbol with the lightning in the triangle indicates that there is a risk to your health, e.g. due
to an electric shock.
This symbol is used to highlight important information in these operating instructions. Always
read this information carefully.
This symbol indicates special information and advice on how to use the product.
The device was constructed according to protection class III. Low-voltage electrical devices
(< 50 volts) powered by a safety transformer or batteries/rechargeable batteries/solar energy
etc. fall under protection class III.
Read the operating instructions carefully.
Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety information.
If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on proper handling in this
manual, we will assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or damage to
property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
a) General information
• This product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children. Children cannot assess
the dangers arising from incorrect use of electrical devices. In addition, the product contains
small parts and batteries. Therefore, be especially careful when children are around!
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become dangerous playing
material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, flammable gases,
vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, stop using it and prevent unauthorized
use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Always handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height may
damage the product.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into a warm
one. The condensation generated could destroy the product. Allow the product to reach room
temperature before connecting it and putting it to use. This may take several hours.
• Consult a technician if you are not sure how to use or connect the product.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an expert or at a
qualified shop.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our
technical support service or other technical personnel.
b) Electrical safety
• The mains socket that the device is plugged into must be easily accessible.
• Only use the supplied mains adapter as a power supply.
• Only connect the power adapter to a normal mains socket connected to the public supply.
Before plugging in the power adapter, check whether the voltage stated on the power adapter
complies with the voltage of your electricity supplier.
• Do not touch the mains adapter if there are any signs of damage, as this may cause a fatal
electric shock! First, switch off the mains voltage to the socket to which the mains adapter is
connected (switch off at the corresponding circuit breaker or remove the safety fuse, and then
switch off at the corresponding RCD protective switch, so the socket is fully disconnected).
You can then unplug the mains adapter from the mains socket. Dispose of the faulty mains
adapter in an environmentally friendly manner and discontinue use. Replace it with a mains
adapter of the same design.
• Never connect or disconnect power adapters if your hands are wet.
• Never unplug the mains adapter from the mains socket by pulling on the cable; always use
the grips on the plug.
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cables are not pinched, kinked or damaged
by sharp edges.
• Always lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them. This poses
a risk of injury.
• For safety reasons, disconnect the power adapter from the mains socket during storms.
• Disconnect the product from the power supply, if you do not use it for an extended period.
c) Installation, Connection and Operation
• The product may be installed and used outdoors and indoors. However, never install it in or
under water.
The enclosed IP44 wall plug transformer must be plugged into a suitable IP44 mains socket
(e.g. an IP44 wall socket) when the product is used outdoors. Extension cables must also be
suitable for use in outdoor areas, if applicable. Make sure that the plug connection between
wall plug transformer and mains socket is never placed in or under water, e.g., in puddles or
in areas where water might accumulate during rain or flooding!
• The included IR remote control is not water-proof or water-tight. It must not get damp or wet!
• Only use the product in temperate climates. It is not suitable for use in tropical climates.
• Always comply with the accident prevention regulations for electrical equipment when using
the product in industrial facilities.
• Warning, LED light: Do not look directly at the LED light! Do not look into the beam directly or
with optical instruments!
• The built-in LED bulbs are permanently installed; they cannot be replaced.
d) Battery (remote control)
• Ensure that the battery is inserted in the correct polarity.
• Remove the battery if you are not going to use the remote control for a prolonged period to
prevent damage from battery leakage. Leaking or damaged batteries may cause acid burns
when they come into contact with skin. Always use protective gloves when handling damaged
batteries.
• Keep batteries out of the reach of children. Do not leave batteries lying around, as they
constitute a choking hazard for children and pets.
• Batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into fire. Never recharge non-
rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
