1.
The IKAR counterweight sleeve is a component of mobile anchorage device cantilever arm in accordance
with EN 795 Type B:2012, CEN/TS 16415:2013-04 of Type IKAR AASS-1, AASS-2, AASS-3, ASS-1, ASS-2
and ASS-3. The counterweight sleeve is not connected to the sub-surface and can be transported to the next
deployment location using the cantilever arm. The counterweight sleeve may only be used in conjunction with
the IKAR cantilever arm.
2.
Failure to comply may result in danger to life.
3.
A rescue plan that takes all potential emergencies in work-related scenarios into consideration must be in
place.
4.
The device must only be used by persons who have received the respective training and who possess the
respective expertise. All factors that might impair a person's physical state must be eliminated! (E.g. alcohol,
drugs, medications, circulatory problems).
5.
The IKAR counterweight sleeve must be assembled properly; refer to the Assembly Instructions section.
6.
The IKAR counterweight sleeve must be assembled horizontally, or vertically in relation to the sleeve, so as to
be stable.
7.
The IKAR counterweight sleeve must be loaded with 560 kg.
8.
Before assembly of the IKAR counterweight sleeve, the load-bearing capacity of the base must be verified
in regard to whether it can withstand the expected load of a fall due to the worst-case load position of the
cantilever arm.
9.
The permissible load on the stop device complies with EN 795 Type B:2012 for protecting one person and
CEN/TS 16415:2013 for protecting max. two persons.
10. Before each use of the device, check to ensure the product label on the IKAR counterweight sleeve is legible.
11. If a device is damaged or strained by a fall, or if doubts exist regarding the secure status of the device, it should
be withdrawn from use immediately! It may only be re-used after an expert has inspected it and written approval
has been obtained. Repairs may only be carried out by the manufacturer.
12. Depending on requirements, but at least once every twelve months, the device must be inspected by the
manufacturer or by persons who have been trained and authorised by the manufacturer. This must be
documented in the enclosed test books. The effectiveness and durability of the IKAR counterweight sleeve and
IKAR cantilever arm depend on regular testing.
13. DGUV Regulations 112-198 and 112-199 are to be observed.
14. The IKAR counterweight sleeve and IKAR cantilever arm must be protected from any effects of welding flames
and sparks, fire, acids, alkalis as well as extreme temperatures and corrosive environmental influences.
15. The permissible operating temperature range is between -30° and +50° Celsius.
16. No modifications or enhancements may be made to the device, otherwise danger to life may result.
