5) Raise the safety washer tab (A) (Fig. 2).
6) Remove the primary pulley nut (B) (Fig. 2).
7) Remove the safety washer, the aluminium spacer and the whole
converter assembly.
8) Insert the weights in the Top Performances pulley (kit includes two
sets of weights, the lighter set results in a sportier response).
9) Install the driving blocks on block holder plate.
10) Install the block holder plate onto Top Performances pulley.
11) Check belt for wear; renew it if damaged or worn (refer to the
vehicle use and maintenance manual).
12) Refi t the belt.
13) Fit the Variotop assembly previously assembled.
14) Fit the spacer supplied (Det. 7 of Fig. 1), then position the original
aluminium spacer, the safety washer and the primary pulley nut.
15) Tighten the nut (tightening torque: 120 Nm) after greasing the thread
and seat of primary pulley nut (before tightening the nut ensure
that the teeth of block holder plate is engaged in the crankshaft
teeth and that the original aluminium spacer is correctly positioned
(the machining with larger diameter towards the converter). While
tightening, hold the block holder plate to avoid the teeth from
disengaging.
IMPORTANT: comply with the indicated tightening torque since a
lower torque could make the nut come loose resulting in serious
crankshaft damage.
